That's good info. I'd like to go not far off the sides of the wells. If I got the spacing on the side of the wheels to let the studs through I may just go .75. Just really wanting to clear the UCAs without anything else rubbing. No way to know for sure unless I check.

Just updated pic - leveled out the front (took the 5100s from 'stock height' up to max lift.)

6 month update on G003s in 255/85/16: Hell’s Revenge approved. Didn’t slip on anything at 18psi in the rain. Entire Hell’s Revenge in the rain with zero slippage, I’m impressed.

Has anyone out there given up waiting on Cooper Maxx 255/85r16's and moved on to another tire? If so what did you go with? I was hoping for an AT vs mud....but the Coopers don't seem to be coming into stock any time soon. Tirerack order keeps getting pushed back

Check out the Mastercraft Courser CXT. They’re made by Cooper. I put a set on a week ago and I’m happy with them so far.

Do you have and pictu es from the front to see their profile/thickness. I think they do end up looking pretty similar to the Maxx but are less ply which is fine for my off roading I might do

I think those are on my short list for all terrain and the Yokohama for mud.

Yup. I just ordered a set of Yokohamas. Like you I wanted to keep ATs, particularly because I live in a snowy state. Instead I think I’ll either keep my current set of Duratracs and swap them in during winter or I’ll just carry chains. Chains are less convenient but I don’t tend to go out in conditions that warrant snow tires anyway.

These looks amazing on the truck! I just ordered mine and can’t wait. I was a little worried about how they’d look with stock wheels but they look great on yours. How do they air down for you? How’s the comfort? I’m not sure what to expect going from C load to E load other than that it’ll be firmer.

They look goofy with the stock silver wheels, painting them black was a good move. Like $20 in plasti dip, take your time and it’ll be fine. Watch videos.

Aired down they felt a little funky, but not horrible. I’ll be changing to 285 33s or 295 34s next year, I need a bit more float on my tire. If you don’t need float, the 255/85/16 is pretty good. Definitely squirrelly on the highway without a sway bar and moving fast, I drive like an asshole though.

E load is definitely firmer, if you have over-weighted coils you could remove the front sway bar for a slightly softer ride but you should be aware of the downsides and safety hazards of not having it in.

As far as skinnies, I like them. They performed great, that’s what matters.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I guess we’ll see how they feel to me. I’m still running sway bar since I don’t have particularly stiff coils (OME 888s with light bumper and winch). I’m a little concerned with comfort when aired down, but unless I’m willing to go to 285s I may just have to deal with it.

Do you have any pics before you plasti-dipped?

Aired down it’s very comfortable, just feels like I’m going to roll the bead. Probably won’t. I don’t know what I’m doing, but I won’t pretend I do lol

Thanks man. Really appreciate you taking the time to indulge my questions. Plasti-dip setup looks pretty straightforward so I may try that.

For those wheels they actually sell black vinyl overlays for the silver parts to make them all black.

Just got my 255/85R16 Geolandar MT G003s installed today. The installer inflated to 40psi front and back and I gotta say I'm pretty shocked at how nice they feel so far. Coming from C load Duratracs I expected these to be significantly firmer, but so far the ride is pleasant. Don't have great pics yet, but here's a few quick ones.

Do a chalk test and report back. For me, 40psi was way too high and looked like it was going to result in uneven (center) wear.

I'm planning to do it tomorrow. I am almost positive I'll end up in the low 30s like 95% of people.
