Well first post on the forum.
Im researching as much as I can but I am wondering if anyone knows if the trd seat covers are designed for the side impact bags?
Mine is an 08 and has them.
I found a pair for a hundred bucks but I dont know if they are the right choice if they arent designed to work with the seat safety features.
Any guess as to what happens if they arent and the bag goes off?

I'm not so sure they'll work. BUt I never use my air bags.

They have to explode out of there super fast and all.. If they got diverted.. that and speed and pressure can make those little flaps stick like steal.. Maybe.. I dunno.. I'm just sayin... There aren't slits in the seats though..

Not planning on using mine either I hope.
Just wondered if they would work with the side airbag system or hinder it in some way.
Sounds like there are better choices.

If you're paranoid, or brittle boned, I would leave them uncovered. I have mine covered but I fear mud (got a boys size 12 in red dirt on passenger seat cover), not getting T-boned. (knock on wood).

Has anyone here ever been in an accident in their Tacoma?
Did the airbags deploy the way they should?
Was everyone in the truck NOT injured?

You mean with a car seat cover side impact.

Who would be involved in a side impact and admit it permanently on the internet.

Glad I caught this thread - I was not aware there was an airbag in my seat.

My past experiences with seat covers is they are not worth it, when I used seat covers in the past I neglected to remove and clean them and just kept them on and forgot about them, then when I did take them off I noticed the dirt and liquids soaked thru and ruined my seats that never came clean, the dirt is like tiny rocks that dug into the seat and made marks, the spilled coffee stains never came out no matter what toxic chemical I used.
I go without seat covers and as soon as I make a stain I clean it up right-a-way.
Yea, I might be a pig, but thats my thing, my experience

Other folks can do as they please - if my side bags are going to deploy, I want them to go where intended, and definitely not anywhere else.

If you're getting T-boned, you're going to have PLENTY of shit on your plate as it is. (Don't ask me how I know - let's just say not planning to doesn't always work... :()
