Character building tool for old school parents raising kids. My father would send me to the yard after he mowed (reel mower) for an hour or so to trim the areas the mower didn’t reach. I was probably 8 or 9 years old and was expected to earn my weekly allowance.

We had a gas powered push mower, an old white and green lawn boy 2 stroke that ran half the time. My dad was a fireman and the day before his shift he’d tell my brother and I the yard better be mowed before he got home. And the fence post packed with sand from the creek, the wood stacked, etc. Kids these days have it easy

That is a way that I've turned them before..using the 4-jaw. I have done several that way and sometimes they don't run true. I'll have this one out of the lathe here in less than a hour, and will be curious what the TIR is between V-blocks.
    Goodmorning crew. :pccoffee:

This is a major irritation to me. My son quit college and now just bums around all afternoon when he wakes up, leaves about the time I get home, then he and girlfriend both return late..she staying there too now. Mom even still does his laundry.
Daughter has never had chores either but she just finish college, graduate with distinction so I'm ok with that.
Ol' Toe puts in a 12 hour day (this includes travel time) then I got home yesterday and on the riding mower and more yard clean up for 3 hours.
