Just want to say thanks and this thread has ed-u-mecated me reel gud!

FYI I have ’11 DCSB TRD Sport. I am looking at OME 885s and Dakar’s. A few questions before I drop coinage- I have read some of these a couple of times already, but didn't see a clear answer, this is really to reinforce my thoughts. I have been searching and reading 100’s of threads on lifts and have 6 or 7 final questions if you gents don’t mind answering.

    - OME 885 should be the right choice (Y)
    - Dakar’s provide better load/tow and a decent (I would say better, but “better” is an opinion) unloaded ride over AAL and or TSB&AAL (Y)
    - Can someone that has the 885/Dakar please answer how level is your ride. Dakar = 2.75” & 885 = 1.75” lift - direct from OME website. W/Toytech ¼” spacer = 2.5-3.0” (as read on this thread). Without the spacer would I be all jacked up in rear, nose down rake? I really want a level ride.
    - VSC – anyone have issue with the OME (I guess it doesn’t care what lift) and is it fixable, I have read few threads on recalibrating the VSC, but does it work (?)
    - I want to run 285/65/18 or 285/70/17….4.5” back spacing should work no matter 17 or 18’s (Y)
    - I will be getting UCA, as I understand it they are not REQUIRED, but highly suggested (Y)

Thanks for an outstanding thread and answering these one more, but not the last, time!!!

    - yes , unless you are planning on an aftermarket steel bumper and winch , in that case you may want to consider 886's but some still run 885's with minimal sagging

    - Dakars will keep the rear from sagging better than stock when loaded , but you may find the ride stiffer when unloaded

    - I'll let you know when I get my 885's/Dakars installed in the next few weeks

    - VSC issues occur for some , and not for others with the same set-ups , that one is a crap shoot . The re-calibration seems to cure it for some and not for others

    - Unsure on your tire/wheel question

    - Yes , better safe than sorry . UCA's will allow you to get a correct alignment , especially if you decide to add the top spacers to get the full 3" lift

Well, time will tell. The ULK is in my buddy's shop waiting for a "warmer" weekend. I do HVAC and it's been COLD!

Maybe a rash decision, but I just ordered my ARB bumper and XRC8 winch.:headbang: Hoping I can offset the weight of them by adjusting the coil-overs without damaging ride characteristics.

    We shall see!:notsure:

Yep my head is still spining.. Do either one of these lifts put wear or stress on CV axles, joints, and ball joints etc. I read somewhere that the Revtek did not. Please do not shoot me, I am just trying to understand what I want to do.

Anything over 3" will. Just stay in that range and you should be good. They are both good setups, just pick between adjustable or not.

Price difference aside which of these two kits are better. I dont realy need adjustable coilovers cuz im gonna max them out at 3'' and leave them at that.

I have, but have not installed, the Toytec ULK with the optional Dakar springs. They will be installed Thurs. this week. I also ordered the ARB bumper and XRC8 winch. I have been assured the coilovers that come with the kit are suitable for the weight of the winch/bumper combo. Time will tell! You can check on any results I get in my build thread. I will try to keep up to date.

    Dinner is ready, gotta go!

BTW, bumper will not be installed right away, I'm thinking a week or so due to shipping issues with the horrible weather all over the country.

I went with the 885's / aluminum combo because I wanted to get the lift of the 885's without the ride stiffness of the 886's

eeeh the steel bumper is just about 100 lbs right? I'm pretty sure there won't be too much sagging, if any

His steel one is approx 105 lbs and the aluminum is 55.

Do you intend to add a winch ?
