Some people I know never used them, but one of the things I hate about my iPhone versus my iPod is that the iPhone lacks a traditional headphone jack; I have to use charging port for headphones, which means that unlike the iPod I can't charge and listen to music on head phones at the same time...

Nice! As far as the cruise control goes try picking up on the brake pedal then setting the cruise and see if it works

If that's what I think it is, then I believe I've already tried it; Not an expensive part to replace, so I'm just gonna replace it...

With a part that gets actuated that much you cant really blame it for giving up!

Sure you can. Get a good quality set of Bluetooth headphones and it’s not like your iPod is going to stop working because they don’t sell them anymore. You will still have one but honestly I haven’t seen anyone using one in years so I understand why they are discontinuing it.

And the cruise control is OEM-style, as in if you didn't know it was aftermarket you'd think it was factory, but it's aftermarket; It was installed in March 2021. The shop that installed it put this incompetent car stereo installer on the job.

When I got the truck back, I was told that it wouldn't turn on and I would have to bring it to the dealer to get it "programmed"; Well, I brought it to the dealer and the dealer found that both the clock spring and the wheel position sensor were broken and it would cost over $700 to fix. My dad accompanied me back to the shop that did the install, and we heard the owner flip out at the guy who did the install, but he denied it and of course he sided with his guy so he wouldn't have to pay. The excuse the shop owner gave was that my mechanic had previously worked on the truck in an attempt to install cruise control before I knew how invovled the process would be, and that therefore he must of broken the two parts; I wanted to scream, but we ended up leaving. My dad had to help me pay for replacing the parts that the shop broke, and go figure, the cruise control worked perfectly as soon as my mechanic replaced them. The cruise control has been working intermittently since then, and I've been extemely hestitant to go back to this place even though the parts and labor are under warranty until 2024, because I don't want them to butcher my truck AGAIN!

Luckily, it seems like we've found the problem...

I'm gonna buy a remanufactured one on Amazon as a spare before prices go through the roof; It used to be I had an iPod Touch for the gym and an iPod Nano for the truck, but my iPod Nano finally died in the middle of COVID. By this time, I obviously wasn't going to the gym anymore, so the iPod Touch was promoted to truck stereo duty and is still used for that...
