Tbh, not sure you'll have any better luck with an F-150. In February, Ford suspended F-150 production due to chip shortages. They rebounded in March, but it sounds like production is still lagging behind demand.

    https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/march-2022-f-150-production-50-737-units.9851/

The Ford dealers near me have had no more than 3-4 new vehicles on the lot at any given time since at least February, and rarely has there been an F-150. Typically, Rangers and Bronco Sports, with the occasional Bronco or Explorer...saw the first new F-150 on the lot since at least January at the Ford dealer in my town...and it looked like a stripped down model. So I'm guessing it didn't have any of the technology packages...and say what you will, a lot of people want those technology packages.

But yeah, everything still sucks...I'm going on 6 months of waiting, but I should be in the home stretch now. Seems like everyone is now saying things will get better in the 2nd half of 2022, but they were also saying in late 2021 that things would start getting better in early 2022. So who knows...at this point, I think everything is going to suck for a while.

I'm thinking the shortages will keep going for another few years or until people stop putting in reservations, which we all know is happening quite a bit. I called 10+ dealerships about vehicles that were already sold. Until that stops happening then this will keep going. Higher interest rates could change peoples minds though.

Yup, add in higher interest rates, higher gas prices, and higher prices for everything at the moment...those certainly cannot be helping the sales of $40k+ trucks that don't exactly get great fuel economy numbers. That said, if people aren't buying trucks with technology packages requiring computer chips...they are going to be buying vehicles getting better fuel economy with technology packages, which also require computer chips. That's not exactly helping.

Rail depart 5/3 scheduled to arrive here today! then supposedly on a truck for the dealer, hoping it gets to the dealer today as well, probably wishful thinking but, oh well... almost there....

I agree 100%, I don't see the prices coming down either. I think if you can get in now or drive your current vehicle for 3-5 years then you're safe. I know I don't want to drive my 21 year old Ford Escape for another 3-5 years. It might make it, but at what cost? Mechanics that normally would say get rid of the vehicle and buy a newer one are not able to convince customers anymore because of the shortages all around.

Did your truck move? Mine went from 4 miles on odometer to 5 today (5/11). Maybe they had to move to clear out cob webs, but I'm refreshing vspec every 15 min hahahhahahahah

    My VIN:
    • 3TMGZ5AN4NM19C205
Dealer provided me with this update, which shows a build date of 06/07. Based on the temp VIN, it's a week 19 build that should have been build this week. Any thoughts on this? Normal delays?

My week 13 was built a full 4 weeks later. Every VIN that has an NM has been moved back 4 weeks. Hopefully no more delays.

My week 13 build is finally off the train and waiting on transport. It went from 3 to 4 miles a couple days ago. The final wait is killing me but at least it's in the right state now.

@Rod03 is there any way I can get an update on 3TYCZ5AN6NT074770 ? Last I heard it was on freight from Newark NJ, but I'm confused why it's taking so long since the drive from Newark NJ to Charleston WV is less than 8 hours and it's been 3-4 days. Do the drivers typically stop at different locations between destinations?

F means it hasn't left the port yet. It will switch to G when its on a hauler. Mine sat in port from 4/21 to 5/9 coming to WV.

Mine went from F to G early Monday morning, picked up Tuesday night at Moses in Saint Albans.

11 miles? That seems like a lot. I wonder why they have to drive that much...
