As much I hear them every night, I'm surprised I've only seen one coyote remotely near my house in almost eight years

Man i can't go on a vacation without something wrong happening. Was towing the trailer on the way to Montauk state park for some trout fishing and R&R the truck got a random misfire between Hamilton & Chillicothe. The good thing is I had a buddy following me in his expedition so he ended up towing my camper when i was on the side of the road but I had to hobble to a O'Riely's. Guy there said the code that came up was a misfire on cylinder 1. Changed the Coil pack and spark plug for cylinder 1 but no dice. Had to leave the truck there at a family members place. Still was able to get our forester to Chillicothe and from there went to Montauk but gotta pick up the truck and see what happened. Hoping it isn't too big a deal. Any ideas?

Dude, you have my luck when I'm not having it.

    Are you 4 cyl? 2TR-FE?

Did you check the plugs for spark?

    Check for spark.
If spark looks good, make sure the injector harness is plugged in completely.
While at oreillys, borrow a compression tester and see what your compression is on #1.
Check your oil and see if it is milky.
    Check coolant levels.

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow. As long as you have these components, you should be firing all cylinders.

Didn't really check. Yea running the 2TR-FE. When you got a family of 5 waiting in a vehicle with kids you try to work fast and I just threw parts at the local O'Reilys thinking it would perk back up quick and go. Honestly I don't have a lot of confidence in their Import direct stuff either but its all they had at the time. Its something to check for sure.

Pretty much what I'll try when I can pick it up. As always, hoping it isn't something worse. Still moves but just clanks around like an old diesel engine.

Import direct is so hit or miss with their quality.

My experience with them is that all of their little things, relays, switches etc are complete junk. But their higher end stuff, like CV axles and whatnot are pretty decent.

Could be head gasket has a small break in it. That's what happened to my 99 grand am, I was getting misfires until the gasket fully gave.

That should show up under a compression test, the coolant is low, or the oil milky

    Mmmmm... milky oil...

You free sunday? Saturdays are usually reserved for the Mrs. I'm sure if Jessy was going to be around she'd be ok with it.

I was about to say I've never been able to totally kill one of their CV's, but electrical components and bearings i usually stick with bigger names like Bosch, Denso or Dorman
