Get the wax as you dry bottle!! I have used this method for years. When truck is still wet, spray on wax. Wipe off. Like Kung Fu!!

I purchased and have the set awaiting my eagerness. I am stalling for the switch assembly that controls the lights. I don’t wish to open up what I have previously closed. I am a “one trick pony” so to speak!

A year later…..!

 

Ordered the metal oil filter housing kit, filter, Motvix filter socket/funnel/drain thing, and oil for my first oil change.

 

That's what I need to hear. Keep in mind, it took me about 1 hour to wash it last weekend, there's Lovebugs in the air here in florida and they make a black and gutsy mess all over the windshield and front end, so I got that to tend with every weekend as well.

 

does rain x make a bug wiper fluid? Feel like you’ll get your moneys worth out of that. I usually put some sort of bug fluid in this time of year

 

post in BST, MESO just dropped new puddle pod inventory so you’ll have access to a lot of takeoffs - I’m sure you can snag one for cheap from a fellow member

 

Clay your windows then put a couple coats of sealant wax on them. It will go a long way. If you pre soak your bug guts with water and soap for a few minutes, it helps with the removal during the wash. Works good on paint too.

Yep, it takes me about an hour and a half to do a proper Dawn soap bucket wash by hand before I wax it.

 

I hope I have the same part number you ordered. I am going to attempt my 30k maintenance this weekend.

 

When I hit the highway in Florida this time of year, I paste wax the front end but don't buff it off until after my trip. Easy to remove the love bugs that way.

 

True, but first, you gotta find the elusive 10mm socket

 

10mm sockets at Lowes! Below the hanging socket set racks, they have drawers of individual sockets (similar to their specialty fasteners).

 

I used to put electrical tape on mine to not have to dig for it.

Wife got me a full set in its owns box with deep and shallow sockets. Goodbye to the bucket of mess

 

Great! This will be a learning experience for you and us. (if you post pics!) I piece-mealed the funnel but did buy the MotivX drain plug/hose.

I also have the Fumoto Valve and drain hose for that too!

Was the lights a hard install ?

 

I've done two oil changes with that MotivX system. One thing I found helpful was cutting about 1/3 of that drain hose off. It's fairly long and unless you put your truck on a lift, it can be just something else to deal with flopping around. I cut it to where it basically just goes straight down into the drain pan. But it works fine out of the box too. One of the more valuable purchases I made for sure.

Also, I used that Havoline oil on my most recent service. I love that it comes in a 6qt container since that's exactly what we need in the Tacomas. Beats having to buy a 5qt +1, and it was a few bucks cheaper in my area too.
