Anyone have a good spot within 2 hrs from Sac? I was thinking maybe loon, ice house or stumpy meadows something like that. but it’s been so long since I’ve been up that way. Looking for a one night trip prefer something with a view or water.. any help would be great.

Killer brew space you built there! Well done!

Here's my man cave at my dads property. We converted about 1/3 of his barn into a dedicated brewery. It's crossed my mind to brew a 10 gal batch and have a mod day/bbq.

Anyone know the condition of Corral Hollow at this point?

Trying to figure out some plans for Memorial Day weekend. I'd like to do Niagara Rim Trail that weekend, but if that it's not open, I'm thinking Corral Hollow and Sourgrass. (Sourgrass is apperantly open now)

I thought they were closed under a forest order until may 31. But I think that may have got lifted? I can’t find it anymore

Ya, that forest order is out of date. They opened Crabtree Rd 2 weeks ago. Jen and I camped up there last weekend.

Sourgrass day use and recreation is open according to their page.

They just haven't issued a full forest order to reflect the changes in road status.

The forest order is still posted in the NF Website under closures. Don’t think its outdated.

    It's outdated.

It calls Crabtree Rd closed till 5/31.

Crabtree Trail and Bell Meadow trail were announced on their Official Facebbok as open by SNF. The only way to get to Crabtree Trail is Crabtree Rd.

The direct question was asked and answered by SNF if Crabtree is open.

Now, this is not to say all of the roads and trails on that Forest Order are open...

But it IS an example of the information on that Forest Order being... yes... "Outdated."

    Little this, Little that.
Spent two nights at Loon 5/13-14. Only few patches of snow on the dirt. Few people this weekend also. Pretty soon will be packed for sure.

Thinking of heading to USAL for Memorial Day weekend. I've never been but I've seen it pop up a lot in this thread and the 2021 thread. Looks awesome, but my question to you guys is should I even bother since it'll be a 3 day weekend? Going camping with large crowds around sucks lol. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!

It’s a big area. But like you said it’s the holiday weekend. Might be kinda crowded. We went back in April 23rd weekend and people were already little rowdy and loud.

Close to home places are gonna be crowded this year. Especially with gas being so expensive.

There was an article talking about Tahoe real estate recently. So many people now. Used to be pretty quiet during the summer "off season" but not so much anymore.

It's not just that but once the Olympics came to town, people started wanting property. Squaw/Palisades is a pretty impressive resort and has been for that long. The homes in that valley are pretty nice as well.
