I programed the Scan Gauge II to read my trans temp in the 03. Its not hard

 

the worst part is the time spent typing in the PID

god forbid you make a typo and have to do it again lmao

I entered like 8 custom values for my 6.0 and it felt like it took an eternity

 

Still cheaper than the Bully Dog Chips

 

Same when I was trying to determine if it was my cat monitors that weren't setting. Had to type in a dozen or so values using those 4 buttons or whatever and then decipher the values it spit back out against the values on their website to see what was what.

With the Torque app it would just display "monitors set/not set" without all that BS

 

Torque is definitely one of the best value per dollar automotive tools

the scangauge is more like something you set up and forget for your parent to see MPG or coolant temp haha

I have an Edge CTS3 for the 6.7 and it's pretty but also overkill. It is nice to be able to set alarms for temps, fuel pressure, etc though

 

Somehow I managed to fuc it up correctly the first time. Maybe I should try and program it for the fuel trims

 

yeah I just didn't like having to leave the Bluetooth obdii dongle plugged in and then there were times where it just didn't want to connect at all. But that was probably due to the cheap dongle I bought.

Plus it would drain the shit out of my phone battery, SG is good once you have it set up for what you want like you said.

 

Exactly. I'll stick with my free modded Nexus running Torque Pro.
