    Video of the incident

At 3am Monday morning, some (i'm assuming drunk) jerk came through my yard and slammed into my Tacoma and spun it around from the impact. Unfortunately, the driver hasn't been caught, and probably won't be. Luckily for me, I got a call from the dealership and she's not totaled. Such a relief. Not sure if I posted this in the right category, I just wanted to share this with the community since I caught it all on video and thought some of ya'll might wanna see. It hit pretty violently, but man, these trucks can take some punishment. Thoroughly impressed by how well it took the hit. Damage doesn't look nearly as bad as it should be based on the video. My driveway was full of parts and fluid from the Charger that hit it. I'm guessing their car pretty much has to be totaled.

Here is a link to some pictures of the aftermath. Luckily most of the parts lying around are from the degenerate's car. I'm worried that the transfer case has some damage since the impact was mostly right on the hub. I feel like that CV shaft was just a battering ram into the transfer case.

Some of those parts could probably be used to identify the perp. Might have some numbers on them... or at least tell them exactly what make and model it is.

Found a piece of headlight with a part number of a guy who hit my truck parked in my neighborhood years ago. Was able to get it down to make, model and relative year. Gave it to police. Neighbor pointed where they saw the car went. Found the car hiding under a tarp, in the same coldesac I lived in. Smh

No, my truck was completely parked in my driveway. They we coming down a perpendicular street at high speed, didn't stop at stop sign and couldn't make the turn. Came through my yard and right into my truck. I'm in Ohio. The officer that arrived to file report informed me that since it was a hit and run on private property it is what he called a "non-investigative" case. So, basically even though I know it was a white Dodge Charger and I have them on video, without a license plate they cannot spend time and resources investigating to find the perp. However, he did tell me that it was a slow night and he felt bad for me since he's a Toyota guy himself, he would follow the radiator leak to see if he could find the car. He was unsuccessful in doing so

The Charger could not have made it very far. Less than a mile in the city. The neighbor across the street who was up when it happened and woke me up to tell me about it, saw a tow truck going down the neighboring street in the same direction as the vehicle fled, just moments before the officer showed up. At 3am in our little neighborhood, I'm willing to be it was going to get that Charger.

The officer told me that without a license plate the parts did me no good. He said there were absolutely no reason to keep them, since they were not going to investigate. He told me to just throw them away

Geez what a lick! I bet this forum full of sleuths could figure out what type of car the perp was driving. Looks to me like a Kia Stinger or Volvo S60, but that's just at first glance.

Edit: I see it is a Charger based on your comments.

It was 100% Dodge Charger. Even got the badges from it in the wreckage. I work for a security company, so I have a lot of security cameras on my house. I have him from 5 different camera views, but since it was dark and the lights were reflecting off the license plate I could not get a number.

Sorry to hear this happened. Same thing happened to me. Got hit in run in my Nissan in December last year. No video though. I was at a stoplight waiting for the light to turn. Officer told me chances are slim to none that they would find the guy. He was in a lifted truck and basically ran over my back end. I tried to run after the guy to at least get his plates but thought better because I was waiting to have open heart surgery when I got hit.

The plus side? I finally bought a taco after wanting one for years!
