Eibach/billys & 2" AAL

Hey this is my first post and I thought I'd start off here since a lift is the first mod I plan on making. I've been reading for the past week or so and I think I've decided on a lift.

I am about 4 days away from getting my 2005 trd sport double cab and I plan on running the bilstein 5100's all the way around set at .85 and the eibach coils. I'm looking for a level look with a slight rake. Will I need a full 2" aal to achieve this or can I do it with a 1.5". I'm also thinking of getting spacers for up front but have heard that you shouldn't combine spacers with this lift. Any truth to this? Also I'd love to see some pics of this setup as well. i would go ome 885 and bilsteins at zero.....with an add-leaf.....eibachs and .085 will give you more than 2.5 which UCA"S will be needed

I thought anything less than 3" would be ok before new Uca are needed. I plan on getting new ones I just don't have the money right now. Would I be ok running

eibachs- 1.6"
Billys at .85
With a .5 driver side and .25 pass side spacers.
Would this give me a full 2.85 lift or a little less? And adding the 2" aal in the rear should put it close o stock rake/ level right? And I plan on getting new ucas about 6 months down te road, would it be ok running it with stick uca for the time being?

 

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is how much higher is the rear on a trd sport dc and will this set up be 2.85 up front and will it be level or have some rear rake?

 

i would like to say you will be fine....but if it does not align up well then you may have to get UCA's.....common rule around here is 2.5 before needing UCA's.....i was just asking this same questions myself not tthat long ago

No ucas. They got my alignment in pretty well too. Have no issues with it.

Tires are 285/70/17.

This is with 5100s at 2.5 and a 2" AAL. Eibachs and new UCAs are going on next month



Note this was right after installation thats why the rear looks higher, its level now.
I think with the Eibachs and 5100s @ .85 the lift will still be 2.5

 

I have this set up and it is great. I would go with the 2" AAL myself, as it provides a bit of rake which is nice for when you have a bit of a load. Otherwise it's not super noticeable. I got 2.6" of lift up front and my alignment is acceptable, but I bought some Light Racing UCA's just to get it perfect, because that's how I roll. Pics in my gallery.

 

Im gonna keep myself tapped into this one, im looking at the same setup.. prob wont be able to swing the eibachs right away but the 2" AAL and 5100's will be ordered by march..
I do have one question... theres WAYYYY too many threads about this... and they all say different things.. so to get a clear answer ill ask here...
When i get the 5100s and AAL, what setting for the 5100s... and when i get the eibachs what setting?

 

With the eibachs paired with 5100's the only two settings you can have the 5100's at is "0" or ".85".

So if you get just the 5100's first, set them to 2.5. Once you get eibachs, set them to .85.

Wolfdogs setup is exactly the way i'm heading. Already have the Bilsteins. Got TSB done waiting on my Eibachs and AAL to the rear.

 

I did the exact same setup on my 09 dbl cab prerunner.
Eibach 1.6 springs, billies at .85 and a 2" AAL.
I would go with same springs at 0 and 1 1/2" AAL if I did it again.
We could not get enough caster and was darty on the highway ( you need to stay on the wheel to keep it straight as it will tend to move rather than go straight ), so get adjustable upper control arms to keep it in alignment specs.
The 2" AAL with the front lift created a driveline vibration which required shims on the rear axel and there is still a slight 20 mph vibe.

All this said the little bit lower it will sit will make driving more fun.
To raise it more get taller tires or be willing to adjust the problems

Just my story and with my 4X4 dble I went with OME shocks 885s first and now 886s with all the extra weight I added with a 1 1/2" AAL
No vibes and I may still need UCAs but I have not had it aligned since the 886s went on a couple days ago.

OH-MAN, How much lift did you get. With the ome an 885?

The only vibes I got are between 5-10 mph in 1st gear. I haven't tried carrier bearing drop yet. And do not have shims.

There is slight wandering on te freeway. But I think that is also due it part to the 285 tires.

Still well worth it :-D
