    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I just seem to have really bad luck with shit like that. I just have a feeling I'd burn the wire harness or something.

Question regarding your vinyl floor kit- I have one that isn’t molded as cleanly as yours and has some fitment issues even after using a heat gun and trying to mold it better- did you use a specific brand or purchase yours somewhere specific? I think I got mine through Rock Auto 5 years ago or so

Yes I did. Although I did run stock studs with spacers for about a year and only had about 3 threads of engagement :anonymous::anonymous: definitely do not recommend that part lol.

I’ve run a 4crawler 1” for more than 10 years and he was adamant the larger diameter of the spacer makes a big difference in not causing as much body roll resulting in fatigue at the cab mounts as other brands that make a smaller diameter lift spacer.

One thing that makes a big difference is torquing the body mount bolts to spec. Over-torque and your creating excessive pressure. Under-torque and there will be movement.

I haven’t necessarily seen increased damage from the body lift but have definitely seen the body of the truck degrade through heavy use. We all agree these are great vehicles, but they’re pretty tinny.

I’m at the point like it was mentioned where I have crossmembers for shocks, bumpers/sliders etc that are pushed up into the space the body lift creates so no going back now.

So mine came from the same place rock auto gets theirs from, ACC Mats, but I got mine from them directly back in 2017. TBH I think it is just the use overtime that has better molded it to the truck and why it looks halfway decent now.

How it looked when I first got it:

    And initial install:

Also I think the fire extinguisher and cup holders hide a lot of imperfections too.

EDIT: Also I am not running any padding under mine besides some closed cell foam. I wanted to avoid any items that would hold moisture and mold if I got water in the cab.

I finally got all my liftybits in, hopefully can install it all this weekend but I have four corners of brake pads and a tire to mount on my other car before I can justify digging into my current usable vehicle. Wheeler's ended up giving me the runaround for a month and a half on my OME kit, which they indicated was all in stock at the time I placed the order but apparently they didn't have some of the rear lift components even 6 weeks after I ordered so I cancelled it. I ended up going with the same setup but Bilsteins instead of Nitrochargers so it will be 883s on 5100s up front with a diff drop and new brake lines, Dakars and 5100s out back with a BPV relocate and extended brake line.

Yeah it almost looks like the hump molds weren't clearly defined on yours? Everything else looks good though by the trans tunnel. All I know is I don't want to ever install it again. I purposely did it on a 95 degree day to make it easier to work with and it was still a bitch.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I sufficiently fucked mine all up when installing it. I have absolutely no patients for that sort of thing.

Thing that sucks, is I fscrewed it up to the point where, eventually, I get to do it all over again
That is a project that will definately be procrastenated to the bottom of the list for a very long time though lol.

Fortunately, most of where I fucked it up is now hidden under the fridge platform I put in when I removed the back seat.

THis is how I feel about re-tearing it all apart to finally sound deaden. I was halfway there this time around but I know I need a solid month of the truck being down to do it the right way based on the amount of time I get to get shit done anymore. Figure when I do the NWF case and clock it/need to do sheet metal work on the floor will be the best time to also tackle sound deadening.

I nicked one harness… haha oops. . There’s always some battle scars when doing shit like this. I ended up jamming a small sheet of my 16ga metal inside as an extra barrier

I had a full corrado interior in this, rewrapped the Recaros in black suede. Loved it. I was actually looking for a year for a decent vr6 corrado, ended up giving up and picking up this 89. Still have a hunger for one though… my wife would kill me though.

Wife and Corrado... that was the end of mine.

Had a Corrado and Jeep ZJ when my 1st wife and I got divorced. I had physical custody of the kids, so I had to give up the Corrado (to her) (needed the seats and 4 doors of the Jeep)

I know the heater core popped on her (like, literally all over her ). And then about 6 months later I saw a picture of it at a salvage yard in Sacramento. I called to see if I could get it from them... they told me I was a few weeks too late :(

I did what @Blackdawg did. 1.25 spacers for me, ZERO issues with the extended lugs.

Extended lug nuts from All Pro (or Trail Gear) (or what ever... lol)

Gotta love this forum and the people on it! Idk how y’all do it but you guys come up with some great ideas.. Huge thanks to Evan @Yota X for hooking it up with the rebuilt SC, and John @1997tacomav6 for all the info he’s put up over the years to help other Tacoma enthusiasts.

    3AD41990-E1D5-4CC0-9859-42515CE9714D.jpg 1C07E588-59A5-45A2-A9D2-C6263CF0F468.jpg 7CEC249F-3E87-43AB-B4E0-2B3AC180C3CC.jpg
Finished up prepping the super charger for install. Painted the TRD lettering and added a fitting for quick oil changes.. will powder coat whole SC next rebuild/valve cover gasket job. Now time to run 93 octane through the fuel system :spending:
