Anybody know what is different about the swampfox that makes it work well for astigmatism?

Not hating or doubting, just genuinely curious for future reference because I recently got my first red dot (vortex venom) and with my astigmatism the 3moa dot looks more like 6 or 10moa. It was kinda funny because I didn't even realize it until I took a picture of the sight picture to send my buddy and was like holy crap that dot looks way smaller in the photo.

The blade is a prism optic totally different reticle and lighting than a traditional red dot style optic where the led is projected into the lens.

Prisim typically came in magnified versions only 3x 3x 6x etc there were very few if any 1x versions available.

Upside good for Astigmatism downside is unlike a red dot you do have to deal with eye relief and eye box. This is more pronounced on magnified prism like the Vortex burris etc but the swampfox 1x has a pretty generous eye relief from what I've read and heard.

Final 2 parts for the 13.7 came in today.
Last stage is going to figure out which optic style i am going to settle on. Also grabbed an AR multi wrench for the range bag. 20220512_135928.jpg

Initial test will be 1-8 lpvo vs red dot. If I decide on lpvo the swampfox will get replaced with eotech vudu 1-6 sig tango 6t or vortex razor hd 1-6 with scalarworks mount
If red dot wins out will keep existing MRO and add 3x magnifier

Aren't you supposed to break in with 200 rounds? My friends helped me slug it out. I think we got about 150 rds thru it and they were holding under arm/below leg. I had a nasty mark from rapid firing it I don't think we had one issue cycling.
    PXL_20220501_213932236-01.jpg

Per Stoeger. "Only these models require a breaking-in period: M3500, M3000, M2000. Here's how to break in these shotguns: Immediately after purchase, clean the gun and oil it thoroughly. Fire 100 to 200 rounds of a heavy load through the gun."

200 rounds through a shotgun is an afternoon of shooting clays. Might not be the most ideal shotgun for it but sounds way more fun than just throwing shot at stationary targets. Hell we've shot clays (or at least tried) with a friend of a friend's Saiga...

I've seen a lot of Amazon reviews complaining about fake optics. Mrgunsngear just did a review of a $5k thermal scope and posted an Amazon link for it.... no thanks.

I seen that review you are talking about.
I contacted Bushnell by phone this morning and they requested photos. I sent them photos for the one I bought two years ago that I know is real. I also sent them photos of the one I got off Amazon that I had questions about.
I hope they respond back tomorrow.

Oh there will be clays. Run and gun drills to test our kits for now. The Stoeger is new to me. There's these internet claims that if you don't have the inertia guns shouldered that they have an issue cycling. None whatsoever on mine but maybe I got lucky.

Inertia gun, use heavier loads to break in. 1oz 1200fps minimum

Also they can be sensitive to how you hold then until broken in. Too tight and it won't cycle

Hey I support the impulse buy! I'm praying for my shop to call that my can is ready for pickup so I have an excuse to grab an MP5 clone I've had my eye on while I'm there.

As for what's different on the Banshee is it the bolt on brass deflector? Does seem like in interesting choice.

That is a good idea but I have broken one of those before, also working to make it as period correct as I can. Although the lower is a A2 clone and not a A1. The rest is A1. When I find a A1 lower I will probably separate the two and make a A1 and A2

Update: these are both real confirmed by Bushnell notice the trademark and lettering on both and the boxing. Earlier version of this red dot had gold lettering. Bushnell stated that this is the correct SKU#. They did also tell me that they have zero control over what Amazon sells. Sorry if anyone thinks this was a waist of time. But we all have heard of fakes and as you can see these appear different. So it raised questions with me.AC42B8BA-BB7E-4397-B837-F448F1756219.jpg9816685D-9599-40C9-B0AC-D197B08BDC75.jpg6DFD36C4-21CE-4BB7-B113-7C947987123D.jpgB131DEAE-6D26-4311-A7FA-932BF5C3E5B3.jpgB136383F-AF5D-45FB-90C9-5CEE71A59E4C.jpg544D3645-68A4-4F52-B095-8CEA24855FE3.jpg33162DE7-A0F7-4426-A9C9-FF8E63FBBD12.jpgC772BB51-53B2-47D5-9B8B-C5E8CFE936D6.jpg6BEB4DFF-21BC-4C84-9441-B87276B43E6C.jpg
