Two more years, and your inspection gets that much cheaper too. Well, depending on what county you're in.

Ever think about some Dynamat or similar for some improved cab quality quietness?

Yes but not so fancy. I went with an Amazon seller called killamat for damping and some other off-brand for noise canceling foam. It's made a substantial difference, that and an appropriately sized exhaust.

Currently installing my 2 10"s from my 05. Went ahead and smoothed the box out with a da sander and router then sprayed it with bed liner, gotta say it looks much better.

Put some tweeters in the doors awhile back and it has made a world of difference as far as music listening goes. Feel like listening with subs for the first time, everything is so clear.

No, I took it off and decided to use meth injection to supplement the additional fuel needs. I’m not ready to part ways yet though… in the future I’d like to get a junkyard engine and build it up with forged internals to swap in so that I can actually justify the port fueler. The stock fuel system can give 11.5 AFR at WOT up to 5-ish PSI of boost. Methanol allowed me to push that to 10PSI and keep it at 11.5. The only tuning I did was dialing in the knobs on the methanol controller and my truck has been loving it for years now.

If only Toyota went the way of Honda, we could have so many more performance oriented 5VZ's. It's a real solid block but doesn't seem to have affordable support beyond 350 reliable horsepower.

Yes it is too bad. With its iron block and stout crankshaft, these engines are more than capable of 500 to the wheels with the right internals and tune. I’d be worried about the diff and axles at that point though. I’ve blown 2 axles so far with my 10 psi… clutch dumping:sorry:

Yes from the explorer if I remember correctly. It's either a little wider or a little narrower but the leaf spring perches are basically in the exact right spot.

Man it has been a minute.
    Snapchat-871828395.jpg

Ended up buying this as a daily. 1996 Camry LE 5SFE with a the 4 speed auto. It's had some work done to it but that'll be for another post.

The reason for this post is mainly:
    20230921_200857.jpg

That right there is a set of 3vzfe cams with shims and shim under bucket, buckets.

I've made up my mind on what I wanna do with this truck and I've decided to go ahead and just build the 5vz. I'll be swapping these in on the stock ecu for shits and giggles to see how it responds.

The reason these are happening first as opposed to any other parts was because this full set of shims, buckets and cams was only like $350 on ebay and I couldn't pass it up.

The next step will be a full stand alone ecu. The truck is NA right now and I wanna learn to tune it NA before I boost it to figure out how it behaves with fewer variables. Current looking at AEM's Infinity 3 series.

    Stay tuned :D

Well I can confirm they fit. I never got around to testing how they run

I was looking at the 1500 because I like the idea of knock control. Only issue is the ecu is double the aem unit that also has knock control. I don't plan on using any of the stock wiring so for either I'm adapting a universal harness. I'll keep researching however in case I can justify the price difference.

The haltech has a plug n play harness though which is a huge time saver.

It does and that is true, but I think all of those kits are still piggy back kits no?
I haven't decided Haltech vs AEM but after looking into how people say AEM doesn't have good support or make updated firmware very often I'm beginning to lean towards Haltech. Also now that I think about it the FIC 6 was sort of a pain to tune or make work. Idk if the Infinity series are similar.

The Haltech is a far superior ecu from what I’ve seen. The kits are full replacement

    https://www.mvpmotorsports.com/boom...plug-n-play-harness-haltech-elite/bf251092500

Found this one. I forgot the ECU also controls gauges and such. I guess these kits allow the ecu to maintain dash control but take over everything engine related.

    Edit: https://snpspeed.com/all-go-fast-products/ols/products/5vz-complete-harness-with-elite-750-ecu

look like this one replaces everything

Haltechs are not piggy backs. Full stand alone ecu.

@Brice I am running a Haltech Elite 750 with a Boomslang harness with some 650cc injectors. Tuned it all myself and with a buddy and it's been excellent. If you ever need some help or feel free to PM me or tag me. I have a thread on haltech discussion too.
