I could be wrong, but I heard and have read that OME suspension equipment is more suitable for the Hilux, and not the American Tacoma. There have been many articles about the differences in between the suspension systems between these two "cousins".

Half the information on Google is untrustworthy because it comes from goobs like us or even some automotive mag sites providing bad info. have to Google trustworthy sites, even Google “answers” are often wrong.

Not many shops would warranty this, to me it loosened off due to heavy usage and ate through the bushings.

Worse scenarios is when the shock eats through the mount on the frame.

I've heard and seen shock bushings installed incorrectly and you can hear it right away. Just saw it a few weeks back with a 5100 set.

I get it.. Part of that fake news and all that BS mindset. Try critical thinking, as it might open a whole new world for ya. Or maybe try reading the other half of Google, you know, the stuff that's not baloney I.Y.H.O..

    Ok professor.

Tell me how a manufacturer of a a suspension part suits one vehicle over another when both vehicles are made by the same manufacturer, are the same in terms of design (body on frame, solid rear axle with leafs, coilover IFS) and the suspension maker OME has tweaked their Tacoma stuff for Tacoma’s.

Yes, the vendor f***ked up and missed the washer. The instructions that came with my OME suspension for my 1st gen looked like they were first printed in 1950 and then photocopied the copies about a billion times and the quality was so low that when I first assembled mine I left out the same washer. Shortly after, I came across someones post showing photos of their assembly and I realized my mistake. Went back and bought new washers and put them in since the old ones went to the scrap metal recyclers.

Good luck getting the vendor to own up though. It's probably best to just buy a new set for the front, reuse the coils and write it off as "it could have been worse and driven off a cliff" or something.

I already know I’m right, and you’re a fool. Why should I waste time researching what I already know to be true?

A more efficient use of my time is to add you to my ignore list of idiots and fools. Carry on.

I had a Bilstein 4600 saw away the top of the shock mount like that. It was on my dad's 1st gen which also had the old NWOR progressive coils on it. It actually wore about half way through the piston rod of the shock. It never broke but it squeaked like crazy. Dad never noticed the noise.... I borrowed his truck once during my divorce to move something and heard it. I replaced the one shock and actually just welded a washer to the top of the mount over the hole. It was fine for another 100k miles. To this day I have no idea why it wore through the mount like that. All the bushings and washers were installed correctly and I have done dozens of these.
