I scoured the car parts stores, even walmart looking for Diff oil LT 75W-85 GL-5, and Tcase Oil 75W LF, but I'll be go to hell if it exists! What are you guys using and where did you get it? Look at this pic, 75W-90? I don't think this will work in the Diff--OR will it? (stand by for pics)

redline offers the 75-85 and the 75w tcase fluid. You can use the 75-90 stuff in the diffs, but the tcase needs the correct fluid.

Eww that truck looks like shit. Each to their own I guess but I need eye bleach now.

85w140 Dino oil in the rear diff for me. Toyota specs that watery crap for fuel economy reasons and nothing else

That's debatable. Tons of folks using 75w-90 in T case. Many Toyota dealerships admit they use same fluid for all 3.

Toyota does specify a different fluid, so i wont say you're wrong.

Manual Trans for sure requires a GL4 which is not your typical 75w-90 gear oil.

75/90 all around. Use synthetic or friction modifiers in rear if you have mechanical limited slip - for 07-09 Sport models, I believe.

Redline 75w85 for the difs, Toyota 75w for the tcase. After changing everything at 30k miles, I've decided everything was in good enough shape to do another 30k and will be doing 60k intervals. Only need 1 can of the tcase stuff. Capacity for the tcase is 1.1L but you can't really drain that last .1L.

Just noticed have several new bottles left from when I did my 2nd gen fluids. It has the ‘contains friction modifiers’ label. Can this still be used on my ‘21 when the time comes? Im not sure how friction modifiers affect things.

@JJ Diablo I’ve read, yes, and that some bottles will state as such. The modifiers help the LSD clutches provide more friction among themselves. They do no harm to an open diff from what I’ve read.

Yes, the modifiers are an additive used for the clutches in a mechanical limited slip unit. Totally fine for use in a non limited slip differential.

The opposite isn't true though. If you have a limited slip diff using additive is a requirement. When I was a teenager I changed the gear oil in my Camaro and didn't use any additive for the limited slip unit. The rear made a hell of a noise any time I turned, very metallic sounding. Turns out the clutches bind with one another without that stuff in there.

Those places won't carry good specialty lubricants. 75W-90 will work in your diffs. In Tampa? Run 75W-110 in the rear and 75W-90 in the front.

TC? A 75W-90 will work (18cSt @ 100°C or so), you don't need it. I recommend a good MTF in the 10 cSt range. The Toyota stuff is around 7cSt IIRC.

Truck OK. Too much lift and the tires are useless, wheels worse.

Mobil 1 75w90 in front and rear diff.
Motocraft unicorn tears in the manual transmission.
Transfer case will receive Toyota Transfer case juice at 90,000 miles.

All other will be replaced with identical fluids as the factory juice was drained at 45,000.

It seems right to me. I expect any quality fluids will work fine.

The Transfer case stuff is so specific I expect Toyota has a reason.

    75W-85 Redline in diffs.
    MT-LV Redline in transfer case.

I recommend the MT-LV or Toyota LF 75W in the transfer case. Anything from 75W-85 to 85W-140 in the diffs. 75W-85 helps Toyota hit fuel economy standards.
