It’s been running for about 12 hours now just to test it out before start really using it. It’s cooling fine, just the sound makes it sounds like it’s on its last leg

If its an Amazon Prime purchase, return it and have them send another. That noise isn't right. If not an Amazon purchase, check with the seller. If its directly with Dometic, see what he (@Dometic) has to say. Sorry bud, I'm sure that its frustrating after dropping that coin on the fridge.

Sounds like your hamster's wheel is wore out. :anonymous:

I have the IM 55 and it doesn't make those sounds. I think you are right to be concerned. I'd email that video to Dometic.

Did you let it set flat for a day before starting it?

Totally! Have been thinking quite a while before actually getting it!Thank you for the reply. I will check with REI.

I will check with REI for an exchange.

I got it from store so I did not wait for a day before starting it. Do you think I should’ve waited?

Unless it was sitting on display on its side, nope. REI is (at least has, not sure about now) always been good with returns. Ask them to plug it in and listen for themselves. Shouldn't be making that noise. If they ask you to wait and see how it is in xx time, insist on a replacement.

Rei now has a limited warranty.. one year on most stuff.

If tilted to a certain amount. The instructions, if I recall, say to wait an amount of time for the coolant to settle.

I actually found out my neighbor has the same noise coming from his CFX3 35 too. Seems like it's more common than I thought.

I actually have another question, I did a test with neighbor and tested the cool down time, both fridge empty, cooling down from ~72F ambient temp, ~52 humidity. (Understand it cool best when it's not empty but just wanted to run a quick test to see how it perform)

A - takes about 15-20 mins to get to 38-40F (less than 1 month old, however, interior wall gets kinda wet, maybe from the humidity)

B - takes about 40-45 mins to get to 38-42F (about 9 month old, way less moisture compared to A)

Are these variation normal? Can you share how’s your experience? Or does it get slower when it's older?

Thank you for checking. Yeah, that's what I found too. Not much info on it.

I've reached out via their "contact us" in the website, but hopefully I can fix this myself. I'm not the original owner and don't have a reciept.

So, it does not reset as the instructions suggest?

    Communication error. Bluetooth or wifi.
Is there a factory reset on the display?
    Just guessing.

I've tried the factory reset from the control, but it didn't seem to do anything. The error persisted.
I am unable to connect via bluetooth or wifi.

    Yep, same as I saw.

The display temp changed back to *C, so I'm guessing it "succeeded", but didn't fix the issue.

Trying to decide on the CFX35 vs the 45 (and the CFX25, although I'm almost certain it's too small for my needs) for my access cab (with rear seat delete). I like that the 35 has a lower height, which would let me build a slightly taller storage platform in the access cab and still keep it reasonably accessible (particularly if I got a tilting slide). That being said, I'm not sure if it'll hold a week's worth of food for 2 people or not (I'm looking more at simple stuff like burgers, dogs, ears of corns, and kebabs, all depackaged/Ziploc'd to conserve space) and maybe a six-pack of cans or a pair of Nalgenes or Gatorades (we're planning on using either a small cooler for other drinks or simply restocking the fridge as necessary).
