I told them a floor or wall mounted spring compressor was needed. As far as I know that’s what they have. How did you end up getting them on?

Hello TRD Pro owners. I'm suffering from a broken right-front spring. Anyone have one in good condition they're not using? It is a "Flat Ground" one, the 2017 version. I don't want to pay the dealer a billion dollars for two whole new front setups. $$$$$$

    Thanks

I am curious where you all are measuring rear height from. Mine came out considerably higher than others. I’m sitting around 25 1/2 and 26 measured from the center of the wheel.

That is weird. Should be right from your M on the KMC to bottom of the fender flare. Do you have the full truck weight on it as I see jack stands under front. 1" block should be exactly that.

yeah I was premature in my post. Once the full weight of the truck was down, it looked much better. Quick dirty pic of the completed product.

Could use some help, as I have been looking for answers throughout this forum and I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

    So here's the deal:
    • I have the Bilstein 6112 lift upfront set to 6/5, with JBA UCAs.
    • I am running the TRD Sema wheels which I believe are 17x7 with +4 offset and 285/70-R17 wheel.
    • Now here's the deal, I was out cleaning my truck and putting in new grease into the bushing and noticed my UCA has wear from rubbing.
    • I feel like these wheels are pretty popular, but I can't seem to understand what the backspacing is and what I need it to be so I am not rubbing on the UCAs.
Can anyone help me out so I don't go crazy searching for answers?

Just noticed that my driver front squeaks as I get in or push down on the truck. Hasn’t been doing this until today. Normal?…

Accoding to JBA, to run that size tire, you need a wheel with minimal backspace.

    Screenshot_20220514-232727_Chrome.jpg

Your wheel has positive offset, that pushes the inside of the wheel/tire closer to the UCA. A negative offset moves the wheel/tire further from the UCA. You can see this in the diagram below.

    upload_2022-5-14_23-29-54.jpg

Offset is a factor when combined with the wheel width. You can use these two numbers to calculate your backspace.

    Your backspace is 4.16"

Just curious why you decided this over the Wescott? I ordered the Wescott about 2 weeks ago for my 22 and trying to understand the advantages vs. disadvantages of each kit.

Thank you for the easy to understand explanation. So I would need to run a spacer in order to create less offset which in turn would reduce the backspacing?

Or get a different tire size or wheel

Without committing to swapping out the entire suspension setup, which I don't really need, I think either the Westcott lift or the Eibach springs are reasonable choices depending on your needs.

Westcott says they're not a spacer lift, but, it's literally spacers that are being used in front -- and rear if you do that too. This is a lot of debate around ride quality, off road performance, etc around spacers. I'm no expert. If you read anything about people who have used the Westcott kit and they seem like they're all pretty happy though.

I do have extra weight in the front with winch and bumper. Westcott hedges a bit on tolerances for added aftermarket weight to the front end. My stock springs were already compressed some with the extra weight. This wouldn't have changed with the Westcott lift. More running load and constant compression on the springs with shocks riding lower than normal reduces performance.

I ended up with the front spring upgrade for the added front end weight support and less contested reliability. For the rear suspension I went with Deaver leaf packs rather than spacer blocks, again with added weight in mind.

If a truck is never going to leave pavement and there isn't much constant added weight, Westcott is probably fine. For others with either off road intents, added weight, or both, a real suspension upgrade seems prudent. The Eibach springs are a relatively inexpensive --less than Westcott even-- to address some of these needs.

Hope that helps. This was my understanding and rationale. Anyone else with some more knowledge on the topic please chime in to elaborate on/correct anything I've said.

Hello everyone. I also am suffering from a broken coil spring on my 2017 trd pro. Looking for anyone who has a fox spring they took off and have laying around they are willing to sell. Drivers side or both. Thanks!

Gotcha! I’m not adding any additional weight in the front and not a “hardcore” off-roader. Just looking for something that easily clears 285s. I do plan on getting an AAL or leaf pack vs the rear block though.
I had the Wescott lift on a 2018 Pro and it seemed to work pretty well. At that time, Eibach was still working on a front spring.
Seems like the Wescott offers a little more lift over the Eibach from what I’m seeing.

I am LATE to this thread. Here’s what’s what: I have a 2020 Tacoma Pro. I’ve added a lot of weight to the back, and gonna add a bumper with a winch to the front soon(it’s in a box in my garage). I’ve also got OME leaf packs in the garage. I was thinking the Wescott 2.5 front lift would help level and counter act the bumper weight. But am I reading the first 10 and last 10 pages of this thread correctly? All I need is some eibach coil springs and slap those suckers on my factory fox shocks?
I called Eibach directly and the tech was like, “huh?”

Yeah you can put these on your truck and get a little lift. If you call in with this part number you can order them without the blocks for the back since you've already got leaf packs. I think they're currently on back order though.

I found the front springs only it’s e30-82-069-03-20 and they’re in stock. Just ordered. Damn… so… wondering if I should cancel the wescott. It’s still order processing phase, haven’t gotten a “it’s shipped” email yet. Orrrrr, do I keep the wescott coming incase I can use the little tiny “spacer” to level the truck left right if needed. Like left sides a little low so just slap the little quarter inch looking plate on top and leave the right side fox/eibach?

edit: I’m gonna be doing off-roading and adding the winch/bumper weight. Am I just going toooo Frankenstein with all this?
