Will a concrete sealer help prevent algae growing on a sidewalk? Will a sealer make it slicker when wet/snow covered? Ended up pressure washing our front sidewalk tonight, and it sure needed it!

My friend is a plumber, he's supposed to stop by after work today to take a look. This is where my lack of experience comes into play.

If he doesn't stop by I'll get some pictures.

    Thanks to everyone who replied!

I don't care about anything other than the boxer in this post. Boxers are everything.

So today I chopped off the 1983 original elbow and sweated in a new one. When I cut off the old elbow it was immediately apparent why it was leaking. There couldn't have been more than 2mm of contact!

    20220514_140043.jpg

I went to work sweating in the new stuff. I'm not great at sweating copper but it held pressure dammit! I did my best to hammer the pipes by cycling a faucet on/off a few dozen times. No leaks :muscleflexing:

    20220514_135546.jpg

I'll leave the access hole open for a few days until I'm certain there's no leaks. Then I'll strong tie the joist back together and tape/mud the ceiling drywall. I'd like to leave a little access door for future use, maybe something like what's used for a little subpanel.

Used concrete sealer on my exposed aggregate and it didn’t seem more slick.

Kawasaki FR600 I think. Tires are big bites. Dunno the size without looking.

It also doesn't help today's solder isn't like the old stuff. Also fittings like brass ball valves and the like (boiler feeders, backflow, etc) are now lead free that doesn't solder very good. I've soldered a couple things around here and it isn't as easy as it used to be...

Exact same mower I bought last year. It cuts so much faster than my old JD, I have to figure out what to do with all my spare time when I’m done!

Decided to paint some trim and the garage door yesterday. Standard contractor's pack primered steel door. It wasn't painted by the last owners and I know it was installed in 2015.

Sprayed the door with a Graco 360° airless sprayer.

I finally had enough of leaves getting stuck in this joint. Another 30 minute project marked off the list.

    20220515_121738.jpg 20220515_121728.jpg Does this count?

I removed the shit rock hard tiny casters from my upright PitBoss smoker. Frankly a bit (TIP OVER) dangerous IMHO. I drilled holes in the feet - there was double meat sheet metal there, hefty. Put in some decent Amazonian rubberized casters. Absolutely sweet rolling.
