Ethanol fuel falls off peak quality/performance quite quickly, adding two stroke oil just enhances the problem of degradation. For as much as I dislike fussing with chainsaws & trimmers I'm glad to spend an extra few dollars to try to discourage an problems.
I only mix 2 quarts at a time, if I don't use it up in a few weeks I dump it in the old International 140.

Almost 30 years ago (long before the farce of ethanol) I purchased a new chainsaw, the dealer told me:
    1) Use the highest octane you can get
    2) Use a premium 2 stroke oil
    3) Add a bit of stabilizer when you mix
    4) Run the fuel out if it is going to sit for more than a week

I have followed the mans advice all these years and the machines have done well for me.

This Mix Mizer with a set of cheap measuring cups is a great way to mix two stroke fuel, you can mix down to just 1 pint, great for that last job of the season. Less than $10 at TSC.

Sounds like a jetting problem if you’re having issues. A winter of gas sitting in there will never hurt anything but I guess it can’t hurt to buy the ethanol free, seems like too much work for me. I switched to electric bush trimmer and pole saw, for things I only use once a year or less. The weed whacker and chainsaw still use the 2 smoke fuel, actually I will probably prove myself wrong today because I need to start up the stihl saw to trim a busted limb

Never had any problems with my 2 stroke machines following the advice of that long ago gentleman, none of my 2 stroke equipment has ever had any ethanol fuel in it.

I got a Harbor Freight electric pole saw this spring, so far I have only used it for one good size job -- and so far I'm quite impressed with it.

The mower is stuck in the mud of the stream that runs through my property. I got a bit too close. Luckily the yard was pretty solid so I didn't leave too bad of ruts with the truck.

I could definitely use that. My old Firestick was broken by some jackwagon who thought they'd be funny a couple years ago when I had to park downtown Pittsburgh. I hate driving without the use of my C.B.. Anyone heading westbound anytime soon?
