Tailgate Insert Letters

So many different brands to pick from on Amazon, and Ebay....which one did you use?

I highly recommend TVD Vinyls. I don't know what color truck you have but he has a reflective option.

They have been on the truck for 13 months including winter and they have held up 100%.

 

These are the same ones I got. Happy with them so far.

 

Wherever you purchase them from, I would just make sure they are made from ABS plastic. That’s the same as OEM. Stay away from metal (if you live in a colder wetter area, reviews say they rust) and stickers (they will not last as long as the ABS plastic).

 

I went OEM. A bit more $$ but I like the quality.

 

Personally I'd only trust Tufskinz or OEM. I'm sure there are other reputable sellers out there too.
I've ordered three sets of Tufskinz domed tailgate letters and all were top notch quality with 3M adhesive.

oh wait there made out of 420 Stainless Steel so check back in it 20 years and my answer should be the same...

 

I doubt the metal being used in most of the $25 inserts is stainless steel. So congrats on quality inserts made of stainless steel.

But, and this is totally a joking observation, why did you post a photo from 6 years ago?? Shouldn’t you have posted one from this year to confirm its quality over time?

I believe you, though! I just thought it was funny!

 

I'd need to see the picture 6 years later... 400 series stainless is not really that corrosion resistant in terms of surface rust stains. Not a top choice for exposure to road salt.

These are a little different than most of all the others I have seen. They have more of a 3D effect FWIW. Ive had these for almost 3 years now and they look like new I live in the Rockies and have some pretty harsh winters and no issues

I have tufskinz on my 2020 Tundra since new. I plan to order a set for my Tacoma as soon as it comes in.

 

Just ordered from TUfskins. They seem the be the best for the price. Sticking to matte black on silver.

well when i bought these they were more like $65 i think (it has been awhile), and yes cheap ones can turn to crap...
The pic I added was the first one that i had grabed from a post long ago. (about the same subject) ((but it does show how long))
but i can add a new one also.
PS: The Vinyl will last 5 to 7 years is what there rated for (probably get 10)
ABS will UV out and fade (go look at a 10 year old cars trim)
and yes in reality i think i will get 10 to maybe 15 years with this..By then the paint will be falling off...... So......

 

3+ years later the Amazon "EyeCatcher" brand ones are still holding up well.
