Yeah, and that goes beyond stupid. Penalize the consumer because they’re way lazy!

How’d you get him to jump into that basket? Most I’ve seen run into the vehicle and bend sheet metal.

I am not much of a wrecnh so this was challenging for me. Installed:
    • LOSTAR TRD Pro Skid Plate Knock off - $230
    • Talon's Garage Cat Shield
Both were lacking great instructions and both required some man handling to get things to line up. But it is done. Anyone who steals my catalytic converter more power to you. Some of Talons Allen head bolt heads were deformed so I had to reuse some of the stock hardware. Thieves will be like, who the hell installed this?

Despite the frustrations I am happy with Talon's shield and the 1/4" aluminum to double as a skid plate. I know not steel but lighter and I am not a rock crawler. More for insurance.

Looks good to me. Took me 4.5 hours including clean-up.

    Love it!

Your explanation and pics are great.

I have the same set-up but I spent $302 for the OEM TRD skid.

I was frustrated enough with the LOSTAR that I was sort of wishing I spent the extra on the OEM! Not sure it is was me or the product. And the youtubers who did videos on them all made mistakes. My mistake was not watching their WHOLE video. I watched up to one point where I was like, ah, OK that is where the hardware goes. When it didn't fit I went back and continued watching. Yep, later on the say "Well I screwed up and put the hardware in the wrong spot". I'll write a review on AMZN and put in the correct orientation of the hardware.

Sorry to hear about your frustration during install.

The bolts were pre-positioned when they arrived in the box.

The only change was the Talon Skid bolts had to be used to connect the TRD Skid because the OEM ones were too short.

Don’t lie, the main attraction in this picture is that beautiful skid loader :)

I haven’t even bothered because of the backlog. So many other great things to see though, so I cannot complain.

I like hitting these falls in the White Mountains in lieu of Havasupai. It’s rare I see a soul there.

    Minor stuff.
Don’t be sorry at all. Always better safe than sorry. Imagine if it was a crack. I drive 120 miles round trip everyday. Wouldn’t have ended well for me.
