Except maybe California; Stupid smog testing...

 

forgot about Cali and their smog test, I don't understand why anyone would want to live there.

 

A Sienna is a great vehicle, but they're everywhere; It doesn't have the "cool factor" of the JDM vans! Definitely plenty of room in the back for a threesome, though...

 

I am actually from California, but I'm a Navy brat; I was born in Milpitas, California in March 1989 when my dad was stationed at Moffett Field the first time. I was born there in 1989 and we lived there until 1990, then we moved back in 1996 and lived there until 1998; As a diehard car enthusiast, the draconian emissions testing regulations for all vehicles 1976 and newer would be the primary reason I would never live there, but there are reasons I can't discuss publicly on TW that I would never live there as well. Don't get me wrong, I have family in NorCal and I love to visit; The area is beautiful (better than SoCal), but I would NEVER move there. For starters, my Tacoma that passes emissions in Pennsylvania with flying colors would probably fail smog in Cali for a stupid reason, and I'd end up unleashing a torrent of profanities on some poor bastard smog technician...

Found this in my step dads storage. I want a Yugo but they’re so hard to find in the USA

I guess technically it’s not Japanese but it’s almost one

 

I actually saw one of these at a car show last June; It was the "luxury" model, so it had a cassette player and factory A/C!

May 14th, 2022:

A buddy had one in bronze color. Had shocks and struts going out and i was following him in my vehicle, saw him slam the brakes and rear end came off the ground a few inches

 

I know where one is parked. I believe it’s a bit older.
I’ll see if I can get a pick for you. I think this one is older and smaller.

 

I want one!

 

This red one is the last year for this style; It also has a GM 2.8L V6 under the hood, making a paltry 125hp...

 

Odometer shot; Less than 130K original miles!

 

About the only thing not stock on this Trooper is the stereo system...

 

GM 2.8L V6; A/C converted to R134a and works great!
