Also, for bikepacking or just general water carry, this thing has been amazing. Can easily fit a 2L with room to spare in my frame bag, and may even be able to squeeze a 3L in with my tube and tools.

Hello gents, killed my workout today. I got the privilege of riding with two other disabled veterans, resilient humans. Im really digging this fuji carbon compared to my felt f70. I love my superlite but that carbon really breaks up alot of the road vibes alot. Im gonna start training my ass off for the OATBRAN ride across NV. One of the riders has a really gucci garmin. Anyone else rock one to monitor everything?

Beauty of a day to explore. Had to hike a bike for half a mile through snow banks, but was so worth it.
The DH is all the way to the bottom, 3800 ft in 5 miles. All raw and backcountry style single track.

Took a lap on Flying Dog today. Beautiful day in PC but could have done with some sunscreen.

    NBD! Well, new to me.

Picked up a used Polygon Siskiu D6 over the weekend. Came with Salsa Rustler carbon bars, KS Rage dropper post, Ergon Comp saddle, new Maxxis Forekaster on the front, and a Maxxis Ardent still in the packaging for the rear.

It has an air fork in the front and rear. Shimano Deore 1x10 11-42T. Already setup tubeless.

I planned to keep my hardtail, but after looking at them side by side and a potential move to a new town on the horizon I realized I didn't need three bikes hanging around (counting my wife's). So I pulled a few parts off my M7 and swapped them over to the D6.

I swapped over my Advent X drivetrain for a few reasons: it's almost new, it's under warranty, it's 11-48T, and I honestly really enjoy how it shifts. Plus, it's all black and looks great!

I also swapped over my PNW Range bars, stem, and ODI grips because I really like the combo together and they have double the upsweep of the Rustler bars. Those carbon bars are awesome, so I put them on the hardtail to sell it and give the new owner a good set of bars.

Gotta find a smaller water bottle now. My 20oz Polar bottle doesn't fit under the rear shock even with a sideload cage.

Previous owner set the brakes up UK style so they are opposite what I'm used to. I'm going to try it once then swap them back if I hate it.

Also including the last picture of the M7 I took before I canalized it for parts.

hydrapak makes some nice stuff. Since I've been trail running a lot more I've gathered a solid collection of their soft flasks. During the summer I'll probably through one or two in my frame bag for really hot or long rides. May include a salomon bottle with a water filter depending on where I'm at.

Actually had a chance to use it yesterday, using it as a refill for the two bottles in my fanny pack. Worked flawlessly! Just requires a little technique to refill the first one since the floppy nature of the pouch means any slack pours water all over your hand and onto the ground.

Question for you guys. I come from a long line of men who are aerodynamically optimized on the top side (I'm bald). I also have a very efficient built in cooling system so I sweat a lot when I ride. Anyone have any clever things they've done to keep the sweat out of their eyes? Been driving me nuts now that the weather has turned in New England. Obviously, I can't stop sweating but I would like to stop it from getting in my eyes.

    Yeah.
I have a similar cooling system, although less aerodynamically optimized. I use the Halo skullcaps. The rubber band helps. https://store.haloheadband.com/

Hah, I’m also in this category, though living out West I don’t have to deal with so much humidity. I have a Specialized brand skullcap that absorbs sweat and also provides UPF sun protection, though it does make me noticeably hotter up there. Helmet design and liner materials make a difference too; I like my Bell Super3 and the new SuperAir claims to have even better sweat management. Finally, I often wear some 3M safety glasses that I picked up at HD, as sunglasses, which have a padded sweat guard at the brow.

Thanks, guys. dman, what you described is what I'm worried about. I run fairly warm as it is, I'm hoping the skull cap doesn't make me overheat. I just bought a new helmet, it's the Fox Speedframe and it's much more ventilated than my old one. The sweat problem is much worse though as a result. I'll have to give the skull cap a shot and hopefully the helmet lets enough air through where it's not an issue!

yeah I've done that refilling a bottle...you can't hold it like a regular water bottle when the cap is open haha. otherwise they work great.

For what it’s worth my Spec skullcap is white and very thin. I just checked the Spec website and the current version has a small brim which mine doesn’t have; not sure if that gets in the way but the brimless version still seems to be available from retailers https://mikesbikes.com/products/def...MI-bDv56Pk9wIVQBbUAR0U0w_sEAQYAiABEgK2nPD_BwE

I ordered a no-name version off Amazon to start, it's a really light weight, high reviewed skull cap that doesn't cover the ears. I'll see if I like riding with the cap and if it helps the situation. Thanks for the input, good to hear what others are doing.

    Yeah.
They also have headbands that leave the top of your head open to air. I have both, but I tend to just use the skull caps. They don't seem to make me much hotter, if any -- they breathe pretty well.

I run those Halo bands previously linked. Haven't tried the full on skull cap thing but the bands work pretty well. I don't wear mine over the ears like the pics on the website depict and it fits just fine.

Between the skull cap and headband I’ve got about a dozen of those laying around. Work as described. Just don’t put them in the dryer, will ruin the gasket eventually.
