Looking at the can I think it was North Sky from Allagash. Wicked good dark beer, and very fitting for where I was :D

Awesome! I love seeing/hearing of successful hunts on the public lands.

Those with kids, how long did you wait until you took them camping after they were born? We are expecting our first in July and right now we haven't made any camping trips this year knowing that my wife wouldn't be comfortable sleeping on foam pad rather than our king size bed. I just want to get an idea of when we might be able to get back out there.

My daughter is grown and she never took to camping. I have friends to went camping from the get go with their two kids and the kids love the outdoors and camping.

First kiddo went car camping with us when she was 1 month old - just snuggled with her in the sleeping bag in the tent, and she slept like, well, a baby! Same with kiddo #2, although he defeated our attempts to stop him from eating all the pine cones, rocks, sticks, etc. Totally depends on your family, and mostly your wife. Remember that if Mama ain't happy no one is going to be happy.

I don't have kids of my own, but I know that my parents took us out when I was just after 1 years old, and my when my sis was 1 and I was 3. We only ever truck camped out of the back of dads 72 F150 with a Leer top, and a home built sleep system in the back. We did that all over the midwest, Canada and NE till we were in high school. Best memories ever.

I also know my sister had her kids out camping right after 1 year
