    Oh look, another mod....
I strongly believe that the people who read (and believe) MotorBiscuit smoke even more crack than the writers & editors on staff for that webpage.

Went past a dealer here last week...had to be at least 10 tacomas sitting along their parking lot when driving by.

seems like they nailed it. New Tacomas are just sitting on dealer lots getting passed over for new Tundra. Those A-holes are so full of shit. In small print, this ad paid for by Ford, Chevrolet, GMC and Nissan.

And here I am 7 months since I've put my deposit down on one, still waiting. So yeah I blame it on the shortages. I haven't seen a Tacoma on my dealer's lot in stock for over a year..

Only dealers around me that Tacoma's sitting on the lot are the dealers asking 5k over MSRP. On the other hand all of my local dealers have the new Tundra's sitting on the lot.

All I can say is I am glad I bought my Tundra new back in 2020.

In terms of the latest gen of the mid size trucks, this what I see on the road everyday in order of most to least:
    1. Tacoma's (by a lot)
    2. Jeep Gladiator
    3. Ford Ranger
    4. Chevy Colorado (used to be #2)
    5. GMC Canyon
    6. Honda Ridgeline
    7. New Nissan Frontier (I've seen 4 so far)

Hard to tell in my region. There are 7-8 tacomas on each of the dealer website's with VINs, but who knows if those are there on the lot or their future allotment. I will say the current market is keeping all but the most persistent buyers on the sidelines. The prospect of paying MSRP+ and waiting months, limited customization, and with the chance the car will just be sold from underneath you or delayed because of a factory shutdown, is not worth the stress unless you are red hot on getting this truck.

I do agree with one premise they make - the new Tundra does cover a lot of bases that might capture some who would have bought a Tacoma.

Dealer near me has a bunch of vin listed on the website, but no truck on the lot. I saw a lime pro the other day while I was there. But it’s probably gone now. There were a few new tundras, including one with a confused customer trying to get it fixed.

That's what I figured. For me there's no point in the dealer unless the car is there. If this persists, a good compromise to bring casual customers back on board would be a process to order though Toyota online and have the car delivered to a local dealer for the final paperwork. I just dont trust the dealer sales office, both in terms of honesty or even getting the order right.

I don't think they sell anything except Tacomas and Raptors in Colorado.

Damn near all I see here by a large margin.

ain't that the truth. What is disturbing is I go full creeper mode to the houses I got beat out by better offers, and nobody seems to be living in them.
