C-470 express lane

They either need to get highway patrol patrolling that thing or just get rid of it as toll road because everyone is using it as a passing lane. They get over, in the express lane, race about half mile up and then merge right back on to the main lanes and then it ends up slowing down traffic with the people merging back on.

 

They should get rid of all TOLL ROADS! They were only supposed to be temporary to begin with and they always end up being permanent. yay privatizing and capitalism

 

The Lexus lane on 36 between Denver and Boulder is the same, i.e. mostly used to pass vehicles in the other lanes, then zip back in.

 

they should be converted to HOV lanes instead. Toll lanes do next to nothing to lessen congestion. If they still want to make money off them, just ticket the shit out of single passenger vehicles crusing in the HOV lane. It's what used to be done.

 

I never see police on east bound on 470 (knocks on wood) Or westbound (used to be back in the day). I never see them southbound I-25 towards Castle rock. 225 going towards I-25 south around 6 P.M is like the fucking autobahn.

 

Agreed. I have almost hit at least one person any day I drive now because they cut across the double white in front of me while going 55+ mph.
Enforce that crap. I pay the toll to not deal with slamming on my brakes every 3 seconds in the stop and go and so that I can get 19mpg on my weekly commute, but that doesn't happen when people are acting a damn fool.

 

ugh, 36 and 270 have some pretty aggressive drivers lol

I was in the express lane on 36 and someone moved into the lane and cut me off so I honked and all 4 people in the car turned around like I was the idiot. Any time I pull a trailer on 36 or 270 I just commit to the right lane. Even if I'm going fast enough to pass as soon as I get into the left lane there's a line of cars speeding up to go around me on the right and cutting me off to keep me from actually passing again.

 

When I lived in TX, back when they used more HOV than Toll lanes, I got a ticket for being a single occupant an HOV lane. LOL, the HOV ticket was more than my drug paraphernalia ticket (weed pipe). Like $300+. But this was back in the early 00's

 

I have also seen people drop out of the express lane on C-470 to avoid paying the toll then going back into the lane. FYI, E-470 is the 6th most expensive toll road per mile in the US.
