My truck is kinda a yardsale across my driveway right now, I'll be back rolling when ARB hooks me up with a non-oil-leaking locker

Heard of more ARB lockers leaking in the last year than the last 10yrs combined. Glad I'm going Elocker.

Probably just more overlanders getting them in the last couple years more than anything. I'd rather have a drip of oil than have to go forward, turn wheels, back up, turn wheels, etc to get the e-locker to engage. Kind of hard to play the hokey pokey when you can't move. This locker was installed in 2015 anyways.

So true but I see the trashing and groups cruising around there drunk as a much bigger nail in the coffin than this. That Kong guy that died that guys thought was so nice and cool yeah I've seen him do that exact same move and more up there, tearing it up being dangerous and endangering others just the same. There is more condemnation for this than there is for groups posting pics at the top of Daniel all with beers in their hands which is explicitly stated as illegal where technically this isn't illegal at all.

Public access everywhere is constantly under attack and you're 100% right it's dumb shit like this from the few that ruin it for the rest. The good stewards go unnoticed and ignored by the other side just pointing out the bad. It's also a bit of ignorance from those that want to shut stuff down what the majority actually do in these public places trying to keep it clean and like it was.

    Just my $.02
    Me too.
But it's not illegal for underage kids to be driving in those off highway areas public or private unless stated in the rules.

The actual carrier is also a downgrade even from factory there is a significant weak point at one of the bearings and then to the part that actuates the locker.
My used ford 9 I just installed has a leaking ARB out the breather :annoyed:. Gonna order both the copper line and the O-rings before I tear it apart though.

ARB is suggesting I replace the Flange Cap#12. Hoping they will help cover some cost since it's been doing it since new.

Regardless of if stuff like that is legal or not, respect should be given to the area that you are operating in. If what you're doing is going to irreparably damage a feature, then you should rethink what you're doing. They took a huge chunk off the top of that rock and if 5 people recklessly launched their trucks over the top every year, in 10 years it will be a speed bump. This is just as irresponsible as the people who drive off trail out west and rut up a prairie or destroy ancient rock carvings for internet points.

    Tread lightly folks.

Another thing that Grinds my Gears is when the "Big guys who wheel hard" come in and purposefully dig pits with their 40"+ Swamper tires because the place isn't hard enough. Then groups of people who have to get paid some how with some volunteers are brought in to fill in the giant pits and put up guard rails to keep people on trail.

I also think a good portion of them just suck at driving. I.e stuffs diff into rock, hits the rev limiter for 20seconds, backs up, turns 6" right and crawls it.

I've seen Apex Overland out there "testing builds" like that on Dickey Bell.. Braaaap braaaap braaaaap, for 30 mins with a line of trucks waiting. Then everyone else takes the same line and walks right up.

I was giving some people crap on another board about similar stuff. They were complaining about how easy URE is and at the same time how it's threatened to get closed all the time. I told them to drive thier junk to one of the other 20 parks within 5-6hrs of here that have harder lines and spend money there to keep them open then. Amazing how little push back I got besides "yea well there were lots of parks around here that got shut down". Well sucks, all the more reason to support the others as well to keep them open.

I don't go to URE to hardcore wheel, I go to get out and putz around the woods and relax, but I also don't complain that it's too easy and make my own lines and crap. I don't get the disconnect with people, especially coming from people with built rigs. It would be like taking your indy car to Publix and bitching because the street didn't have the right curbing, guardrails and there are priuses all over the place getting in your way. Go up to the good evening ranch in WV for a small awesome park, with basically no rules and all kinds of big ass rocks to crawl.

Maybe I'm weird where I don't need to be pushing the limits of my vehicle every single time I leave the pavement or something.
