Serious question....since you done like Tacoma's why would you spend your time on a Tacoma forum?

What a dumb article. People buy midsize trucks because they are more “comfortable on-road”? Yeah sure.

Other reasons the Tundra has made the Tacoma obsolete:
-As off-road capable as a Tacoma. How? Did they shrink it?
-Comparable fuel economy. Ok, cause people buy Tacomas over Tundras for fuel economy.

    What stupidity.

Also, the Tacoma has had the smallest drop in sales compared to the other trucks with listed stats (aside from the Tundra). Of course, a complete Tundra redesign couldn’t have anything to do with its massive popularity. Bet there are other logical reasons. Maybe more were produced.

Toyota’s reliability isn’t what it once was. Overall it’s still better than most others. Tacoma is certainly not the poster child of that.

Never said I hated Tacoma’s. Just a lot of people here act like they are hand built by Mayan virgins. I’ve owned 2. First gen was a solid truck. My 3rd gen left a lot to be desired. Hung around to watch the shit posts that make up 75% of the 3rd gen forum, and the few other off topic and other good threads and content this place does provide. Anything wrong with that? Definitely more than a few people who still hang out here who no longer own Tacoma’s or even Toyota’s

Nothing wrong with that at all. Seemed like you truly disliked the Tacoma. I was just curious as to why one would hang around. I too had a first gen and loved it. Now I have a bunch of Jeeps. Selling off a couple and going to play with a Tacoma again. See how it goes.

Ya the 3rd gen forums are alot of shit posts, for some reason bunch of people who either don't own 3rd gens or own 2nd/1st gens keep showing up just to say how bad the 3rd gen is. Then the people who actually own and like the 3rd gen say its not bad. Weird huh?

I'd be upset by words too if I drove the Japanese equivalent of a Chrysler product.

Why buy a Tacoma when you could buy a Tundra, Ram, Ford, Jeep, Honda or what ever? Because I want a Friggin Tacoma. Did I look at a Tundra? No, never crossed my mind, Jack. I actually looked at a F150 but I wanted and bought a Tacoma. I don't give a care what gets what ever. MPG, RSVP, USDA I don't care Jack. Sometimes you want a burger, am I right? Better food for the value what ever. Ya want a friggin burger, buy yourself a burger. ...anyways just saying. Last I checked it was America.

Yeah, I read this article full of contradictions the other day. It appeared in my feed as well.

Supply issues. My local Canadian dealer has apparently 2 Tacomas in stock and 11 “in Transit”. Been that way for quite some time.

They apparently have 6 used from model year’s 2018-2020’s in inventory. Priced at over what a comparable 2022’s would be at MRSP. They recently had 10 so they are still moving the overpriced used ones while folks wait for new to arrive.

So many variables at play these days. Interesting times we live in.

Clickbaitbiscut, What maters to me is my 2020 Tacoma is an awesome truck and meets our needs as a family.

We just got back from 5 days at the cabin. Truck was stuffed with us and our gear there and back. 6hrs each way with some steep mountain passes. Truck averaged 20.5 MPG’s and a was an absolute pleasure to drive.

Sales are down on the best seller in the world: the F150 because of supply chain parts shortages that EVERY manufacturer is experiencing. Consider the pictures of hundreds of trucks parked in lots: completely assembled except for some ECU. It's a no-brainer that the same is true for the Tacoma. Everyone knows this. There are dozen's of articles out there documenting this. There are entries here of people waiting "xx-months" for their custom "maybe" 3rd gen Tacoma orders. Ford Bronco orders: people waiting for their 2022 are being bumped to a 2023 with no guarantee that they will even get one (2023's). The new Tundra isn't killing Tacoma orders, it just that Toyota is selling every one they build. (both trucks) and they're not building enough to meet demand. If they could build more and fill the pipe-line with enough Tacoma's to exceed demand, they would certainly be doing it and selling every one of them. More of the new Tundra too. These events are cyclic and gone before you know it.

IMO, people are waiting for the Tacoma supply to stabilize and maybe for the 4th gen model as well. There is a huge pool of buyers out there that refuse to pay over sticker waiting for the insanity to end. The price jump from Tacoma to Tundra is huge and the Tundra is selling well partly because it's been a long time between the generations.

It has to be making Toyota INSANE that they can't keep up with demand due to conditions that are beyond their control. They can/have the means and ability to make as many as they want: but not if they don't have all the bits to make them. THAT is why sales are down.

Yup, sales are down and all manufacturers are facing the same issues It's a level playing field.

I see people saying that sales numbers don't matter because of supply issues. If anything, sales numbers are more important because of supply issues.

Totally agree with you: The >numbers< are everything: no matter what the reason or the excuse is: they drive everything. When the numbers are down because people are screwing up and not doing their job: they get fired. When numbers are down because of factors you can't control: killer. It doesn't matter if it's trucks or potato chips. When it's demand you can't meet: companies die. Simple.
