Leer 100XR Pricing Increase

Very happy with my purchase. Ordered from
uresti in San Antonio’s 1k cheaper than anyone else in DFW. Ordered it April 7th was delivered May 4th. Paint looks good, everything looks aligned. I chose package 4 so it has pretty much every option.

 

Looks great! Came in pretty quick too! I'm sure you'll continue to be extremely happy with it. I was told to not machine wash it for a few weeks also to protect the clear coat and to tighten the mounting bolts every couple months. I've read the canopies like to move around on the 3rd gens a little bit, so adding some clamp hold downs to the front of the canopy/truck bed aren't a bad idea. I haven't added clamps to mine yet but plan on it, I have tightened them up once and the bolts did snug down a bit. CONGRATS!!!

 

If you don’t mind sharing how much did you pay out the door for that? Just trying to get a more accurate price point on Leer since there prices have been increasing recently.

 

Buy used on Craigslist or offer up out here the bay area .. lots of shells ... windoors are $$$ really nice to have side access or you'll need to climb in to get gear at front ...you'll curse yourself everytime ...dooo

 

I paid 3600 installed. I faked several places that all wanted 4500 with less options. I got windoors both sides around 200, carpet headliner, led some light, keyless entry, removeable/sliding front window and I had the roof rack tracks so I can add the roof rack down the road. They also took off the front head piece and sealed it and the corners for me.

you can get a basic one around 2800. I looked at Craigslist and Facebook market daily. I found one 700 miles away from me but it didn’t have windoors and was the wrong color and he wanted 2700. I would’ve scooped one if I could find one.

 

where do they wire the 3rd brake light into?

 

The driver side tail light wiring. Just need to tap into the switch power and ground.

 

Yuuuup what he said above. Then they wired the dome light to my bed lights and since I didn’t have the power tailgate lock get they wired it to driver side. I wanna switch to passenger as I don’t need my cap unlocked everytime I unlock my truck to get in.

 

Anybody know a good place to find campers second hand? Feel like I’ve been hunting for one on the usual offer up and Craigslist for ages without luck.

 

FB Marketplace, also look for 3rd gen tacomas for sale private party that have a topper and ask if they will sell it separately as usually it doesn’t increase the sale price and they could make additional money on top of the sale by selling the topper separately.

 

Uresti in San Antonio is fantastic. Installed the SmartCap on my mother in laws Gladiator and did a fantastic job. I’ll be ordering my 100XR level 4 from them soon. Glad to hear you had a good experience. Top looks great.

 

I think you'd have to know the person's financial situation to make that kind of judgement. It may be that the person's financial situation is such that an extra $2k for something they want is inconsequential to them, and would be the equivalent of you going to a restaurant and spending $100 on a meal - something you don't need.

I found a used topper. Was not color matched so I shot it with Raptor Liner. Matches the black trim on my truck.

Correct, some people could afford it without even considering the price…inconsequentialness doesn’t negate a dumb choice.

Most wealthy folks who buy Tacomas do so because they’re a bit practical and financially responsible, despite their wealth.
