I would have called the cops. I've called the cops on my neighbors for way less. I'm capable of taking care of myself, and my truck is insured in the even it's keyed. An 8 year old chasing a ball into the street isn't so well equipped.

Cops are already at his house.. i guess they were called because of him hitting the car next to him. There, he was punished, i was reemberced, and i dont care about the thread not ending well, i have better things to worry about then if people agree with me or not. I made the decision to not call the cops for my own reasons, and if i am stupid for those reasons then hey oh well.

Telling people what they want to hear.. I call a lie.

And people aren't not agreeing with you because of your own monetary decisions, they aren't agreeing with you because you bitched out when you should have made the right decision and called the police. Good job getting reimbursed for a fucking mirror.

Honestly my friend just left and said he saw 3 cops outside the apartments.. if i were trying to tell people what they wanted to hear then i would say i went back and called them myself. And okay, im 18 and my priority is my truck.. shoot me

Give him a break guys. You aren't exactly thinking clearly after something like that. And as everyone is so quick to point out hes only 18 so he probably hasn't had very much experience with dealing with drunk drivers or maybe any situation where hes had to call the cops. Calling the cops would have been the right choice but hopefully hes realized that after thinking about it

Edit: although his last post kinda made me regret posting this

Yes i realize i should have called them and gotten a drunk driver off the road, but i was only thinking about my truck at the time. Thankfully someone made up for my mistake and 3 cops showed up at his apartment. I see why u are dissapoitned at me for not calling them myself, but i thought i made the right choice.

I can't believe how lightly you're taking the situation. Even if you are only 18, you know the difference between right and wrong (you're supposed to anyways) Karma is a bit*h man, you will regret your actions in due time.

Man up, do the right thing.

No. Not thinking clearly would be a situation where he flipped out and beat the shit out of the guy.

This coming from a 17 year old. Wait til you have kids, and see the feeling. There is no other feeling in the world when you have one. And then you have someone like this fucking idiot that doesn't want to report it because they might come back and scratch his poor little truck.

I'm only 18 and if someone hit my truck my first thing would be to call the cops, regardless if the driver was drunk or not.

Keying the truck was an example, an example of him coming back to take his anger out on me for calling the cops. Who knows, they were trash.. he could have come back and done far worse like harming one of us, you dont know people these days.
