I'll never understand the fixation millennials have with the term 'boomer'. "Boomers" are the baby boomer generation. 1946 - 1964

 

I probably shouldn't laugh but I found this hilarious and sad at the same time.... I have a very mild case of tourettes where my tics manifest as an "ACK" sound coupled with a head jerk. I'm old enough now just last week I had a tic at work and threw my neck out

I cannot make this up, but just yesterday I heard that phrase for the first time ever.

My wife said something about her 'tics' and I was like wtf?

I'm like babe what are you talking about, you don't have 'tics'

Her - yes I do!

Apparently, tics is a disorder similar to OCD, but begins altogether differently than OCD.

 

Don't feel bad, you'd be surprised how many people haven't heard that term before. I get funny looks all time when one of my tics interrupt a conversation and I'll say "sorry, that was just a tic"

Most of the time people think I was actually bit by a tick to have had jumped like that lol

 

Actually, can be associated with multiple different things. Tourette Syndrome, Autism can both manifest 'tics'. I used to work with a guy who was diagnosed with TS early as a kid. Great guy and a pleasure to work with. Like everything else, just have to learn a little bit about it to understand it. Not saying the wife has either of those, its like quirks - we all have something and some might label theirs as 'tics'.

Was your coworker one of the 10% of sufferers that swore? I think that's the most annoying thing to teach people that only know about the stereotypes of TS.. people that want to argue with me that I "can't have it cause I'm not swearing uncontrollably"
