Weird, its almost like they have a financial incentive like many other things that are being forced upon us in recent times.
Orwellian or just coincidence, you be the judge...
Ok, back to the batcave I go! Those trucks don't seem to put themselves back together without me, lol.
I need to try out some new helpers, the last few I have tried have not been up to snuff. I know I expect quite a bit but if I have to show someone how to do something more than 3 times that's not gonna work, but having help when I need it would be very beneficial when I get slammed.
I tend to judge based on roughly what I knew at their age 9obviously not as an absolute but more like a rough guideline), however based on that apparently I may have been ahead of the curve a little bit.
I rebuilt my very first engine when I was 13 (a 1982 Yamaha YZ80) and I did it all solo using nothing but manuals and micro fiche at the local motorcycle shop since computers didn't exist yet, ok, maybe they did but the "internet" was nothing more than a few shitty chat boards at the time!

Anyway, hope all you guys and gals have an awesome weekend!!

Correct, using the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" mantra for a vehicle then it's going to make a person wish they took better care of their chariot, especially if that sucker gets your ass to work every day so you can afford to do things.
That being said, maintenance is far cheaper than repairs are and when you are done with said repairs the maintenance still needs to be performed so its a double whammy in many ways.

Hope everybody is having a great hump day! I've been working quite a bit, Sat, Sun and Mon, were all 12 hour days, but they were all full lifts including UCAs and all of them also used Icon AALs. Yesterday was only about 4.5 hours, where I did a CMC as well as a Viper cut on a 3rd gen, today was a lift on a 18' 4R and I also welded in a panhard correction bracket in order to get the panhard bar straight at ride height (or at least far closer than the stock position that is way to low after the truck is lifted)
Today's lift was 2.5 Kings all the way around replacing the old Icons that always break or leak (not a fan of ICON

My brother did and was telling me they have some pretty cool stuff there. He thought they would be good behind a Tacoma if you want to tow. I decided my preference was not towing so went with a shell.

Can you get the proper joints? If so I can do it for you.. I have had many issues with trying to replace driveshaft joints since they tend to throw it out of balance. Even when you can find them and replace all of them completely you will most likely need to get the driveshaft re-balanced so it wont vibrate your fillings out of your molars!
So yes it can be done but its best to also include the fact that it should be rebalanced by a driveshaft specialist for smooth operation.
Nobody likes vibes!!!! Oh wait...I'll just stop myself here, I was going to mention a girl on a Harley but figured Ill just walk away while I'm ahead, lol!!

Forgot to mention another option, a lot of guys have been swapping out to a one piece DS.
But there are pros and cons to this, let's start with the pros, there are less U-joints to fail as well as complete removal of the carrier bearing assembly so that's a nice thing being able to toss away 2 U-joints and the carrier bearing altogether, less parts = less problems.

The cons, your clearance will be affected since the driveshaft will hang lower since it is going directly from the transfer case to the differential so the A-B line might cause some clearance issues for some people depending on the terrain they are playing in.

Now that I think about it I had better order a one piece DS for my own truck, lol. I had forgotten about since I am so busy working on customer trucks, lol.
Maybe someday I'll be able to drive my turbocharged V8 swapped Tacoma!!

No such thing as too much power, and don't be such a sissy!!

I've used Driveshaftpro to retube my driveshaft. They near fiesta island just across the fwy. It did take a few days.

Just wanted to leave a big shoutout and thank you to @Speed Freek for getting me in on short notice and for the excellent and professional work he does! Needed my frame drilled to get my sliders properly mounted and he took care of that and then some! (maybe my truck has 2 less zipties on it so what )

Rare to meet someone who can have a normal conversation nowadays haha. Jason is that guy! Thanks again.

I love yapping with @Speed Freek when he works on my rig. I've even learned when to stop so he can focus. And he'll talk about almost anything.

    So...

anyone know who has the ability, AND experience, to TIG aluminum locally?

Looking to get my shells welds finished. Because foe some reason a.r.e didn't think it was neccessary to fully weld it. My tradesman makes this look like garbage. Regardless, this is the new project.

Which leads me to this current search. Anyone got a shop, guy, or themselves that they could reccomend?

Not sure if this is a good place to ask for this but I am looking for 11 feet of 6inch pvc pipe.... Having a hard time finding anywhere that will sell me 11 ft.. Most places want me to buy a 20 ft stick which is pretty much a extra 100 that I don't need. Will drive anywhere in San Diego so if anyone sees this and can sell me that please hit me up

Does it have to be PVC Sch. 40 for water under pressure? SDR35 PVC or HDPE (Drain pipe) is far cheaper and comes in 10 ft. sections. Contact Ewing Irrigation (several locations) for cost and availability.
