I forgot to clarify, the notches in my truck were almost four years old. DJM has made some changes to the manufacturing process to fix the lack of penetration on the plate welds since then. Obviously, your mileage may vary, and shtuff can happen.

Shoot I can’t even tell it’s dirty. It looks good with either set, the G35 wheels are nice and clean on there.

    Hmmm…
I don’t know where to post this but I sold the chrome G35 wheels that I originally installed on our 2015 Access cab. The buyer started looking at the truck then started asking questions about it. He loved the stance per his words “lowered just right” the manual trans, StopTech’s, super clean, 27k miles, etc. He asked me if I thought about selling it. I told him yes & no. He said give me a price I said no he then repeatedly asked me 5 times. I thought for a few then said “Ok $25k” He took a photo of the the door VIN sticker. Then said I have your number. He calls 3 more times asking questions on the last call he said would you take $23 cash I told him no thanks, he said $24 I said no I’m sorry he then said ok I pay $25k when can I have it? Jesus Christ I sold my truck and didn’t even want to.
So needless to say I purchased DJM notches, had them stripped and painted them with weldable primer. I also have all the hardware to bolt them in but IDK if I want to include the hardware because they really should be professionally welded in! Plus I gave the 3” blocks to someone here who paid the shipping. I do have MUCH better plated U-bolts for 2” blocks from SOS/Tundra racing. I don’t have blocks unless you want Powdercoated 3/4” & 1/2” machined aluminum blocks. These and 6 lug leafs would have given the 15 an 3/4” rake. The truck has a HD steel cross box toolbox behind the cab.
I will start @ $225 shipped, being I paid $282 plus shipping plus I had the damn things stripped of the cheap powder coating DJM has done. I will post a photo of the notches later as they are warped & boxed up. Guys please have these professionally welded in as you may want to see what happened to @BananaMan notches. It’s not pretty and down right dangerous‼️

Congrats on accidentally selling your truck, now to find a better one and build that up!

Edit: I'm the lucky member that ended up with those 3 in drop blocks

Well I kind of did, I don’t know if it’s better but I purchased the unmolested 07 Regular cab that’s now at LCE getting a Haltech installed and tuned for the Magnuson supercharger. What’s kind of sad I found a new 5.3 LT84 engine w/ 5 miles on it. The LS has been replaced with the completely new direct injection LT engines. This aluminum engine puts out 355HP & close to 400 lbs of torque on reg pump gas. They already have developed cams and with a new cam and a factory intake from the 6.2 LT the 5.3 is just over 500HP on regular pump gas. I think 500HP, a manual 5 speed Tremec TKO-500 and a TrueTrac I think the 07 Reg. cab would go down the road. Just better make sure you have it pointed straight when you hit it… The before…

:hattip: Damn your right I totally forgot who I sent them too. Sucks to get old can remember what you did in 1978 but can’t remember what you had for breakfast.

Wow. Just wow. Glad you caught it before it got any worse.

It looks like the your DJM plates, different where the bump stops screw in. Compare to what @Hayrider posted. This must be the update y'all referred to.

I remember years ago, there was a huge topic on the design of DJM. I am not sure what the programming was called, which highlighted stresses, but it showed that the best design was an arch insert.

Not that it matters at this point obviously. Might be helpful for someone else in the future.

As for yours @BananaMan , I wish I would have seen this sooner. Coring some holes through the DJM plates, then weld those to the OEM frame. As well as the perimeters. It'd firm it up as one piece, rather than the bolts.

    I can agree.

Do you happen to know the simulation program that I am thinking of? Right on the tip of my tongue....Flow....

I was trying to remember it myself. We used it for simulating stress in packaging when I was working at a package design company. strapped up sensors to the products inside and dropped and essentially tried to destroy the packaging. the software was to simulate prior to testing.. ugh.. driving me crazy.. I'm gonna text my old co-worker.. lol

@Torspd THANKS my thoughts exactly! @BananaMan told me DJM offered him new notches and he kindly turned them down. I wouldn’t!

I also remember reading the same article. The biggest issue is where there’s a sharp right hand turn is, this is where @BananaMan cracks started I’m willing to bet! This creates a stress point and it’s where cracks start! DJM SHOULD machined a hole where the bump stop screws into instead of the sharp right angles / square points. After the round hole is drilled / machined then they need to cut up to the sides of the hole to make the turn round or rounder not square!!!…
Just look where the fabricator / welder drilled a small hole at the end of the crack then welded the crack back on Mr @BananaMan frame…
I’m doing something with the notches to round the square cut and drilling a hole into the frame. They will then be welded together. Also in the holes in the notches will be welded to the frame and along the perimeter of the notches will be welded to the frame. Yes it’s a lot of work & time but in the long run it’s safe. It’s just like New radiator hoses and belts are cheap compared to old ones that can pop or break in the middle of no where. Then those old parts get very expensive!

As stated a gentleman asked me repeatedly just give him a price for the 2015. I finally did and this is what the new owner is doing when it! :notsure:B156EA4D-A4E1-4498-B6FC-2F3C73FD74E7.jpg 68F0D60B-26DE-41ED-9C2E-435AA7EA9A60.jpg

And here’s the crazy part this is not at his house but a place he just started leasing. He had it painted, insulated, lights installed, the floors done, installed two split units, two lifts & upgraded ALL the wiring. He and his son want to start building drift cars there so he’s moving most of his tools, welders and etc, into this place. I asked him if they installed an LS in anything he then said not yet. I said that was the plan for the 2015 his eyes opened and he said he needed to talk to his son. I think I planted a seed…

I totally agree there should be street trucks on the banner and your truck is a perfect example!
