I would say yes. I've observed idling for about 30 minutes destroys my total tank MPG by 1+ mpg. I'm cutting off the engine now when idling waiting for my people to get in the car. It's not easy here in the Florida sun, but easier on some days...

Is your mpg what is displayed or are you physically calculating the #s?

I average about 12-13 L/ 100 klms or in US terms 18-20 mpg according to my display. Here is an interesting article.

Note, I have a bed cover and tire size is only slightly taller than stock.

The front rail or the caps? I want to say the front rail was like $40. Lemme check order. Eh, $58 on AMZ I paid last June. All to add a couple tie down points I have used exactly once.

You have to manually reset it when you fill-up. Starts the average part over again.

TRD shift knob for 2022 Tacoma ..seen them as low as $40 on ebay, and as much as $128 on other sites

What do you think the quality difference is if any?

Also to install is it screw off original and screw on replacement?

I use the "faux" TRD Pro shift knobs for my illumination mod. Physically they are identical except the Toyota TRD Pro shift knob uses white plastic for the base as opposed to black plastic for the "faux". Also, the leather seems to be a bit more textured for the "faux" shift knob. Here is a pic of the "faux" brand sold on Amazon for example.
Yes, they are a direct replacement.

    Absolutely!
I sit in my truck for about 20min+ a day waiting for my son to get out of school. My truck tells me that I'm getting only 13MPG.
Depending on how much you fill up in your truck each time the truck will automatically reset the miles to empty.

I am a little challenged...Can you "dumb this down" for me? ..what I read: I install the puddle lights and footwell lights as normal up to the A-pillar. Then I discard the Meso T-harness and install the VLED T-harness along with the VLED pigtail that now connects the Meso puddle lights. Is this the setup I will need to use for both the puddle and footwell lights?

I don't know why this is so hard for me.

I'll let you know this week as I have a faux one and OEM one on the way. Was trying to use a AJT Chrome delete and the bottom portion would not seat to the faux shifter. It's a little too short, at least the one I bought.

    Install is a breeze too.

The chrome delete sits on the boot trim, not attaching to the knob. the boot insert attaches to the knob

I know and I'm saying the extra thickness of the chrome delete won't allow the boot trim to snap to the shifter knob. It does work with the OEM Off Road shifter knob though. There are sooo many faux versions out there, mine just didn't work. I'm not buying the OEM TRD shifter knob just to use the AJT boot trim, I'm buying one just because I'm curious of the quality difference.

During the last big gas crunch, the powers that be did a study on fuel economy for idling vs starting.
It was determined that 5 Minutes was the cut off point.

That is; it took more fuel to start the engine than what was used for idling under five minutes.
And the engine consumed more fuel if idled for over five minutes, than it took to start it.

So... if you know that if you will be waiting for your passengers for longer than 5 minutes, shut down the engine.
