Looking at getting LED halo lights. Don't know if they'll fit?

I'm looking at getting some new headlights and looking at these Halo LED lights for more light when driving and style. I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pre-runner sr5 but they are rated for the normal tacomas. I think the headlights are slightly different on the pre-runner model.

Will these fit my Pre runner or not?

Those lights are going to provide substantially less output than OEM. You will have less light, not more which you state is your objective. Spyder is a terrible quality brand, their products are based on looks only, not output. Not to mention build quality is very poor and they often end up leaking. If you want the best performing off the shelf headlights, it will be OEM plus bulb and wiring upgrades.

IMO, I would get some BX headlights. You can customize them to whatever you want. Here's a link.

Got a set of BX headlights on order. Will definitely post an update when installed

I have them in my Tacoma and Tundra. They're very bright and the cut of is crisp.

These look like they'll be much better than the spyder ones, thanks for the info. Going to look into customization for them

Give them a call. The customer service is great. Lead times suck but I hear it's getting better since the Chinese flu is calming down and parts are being shipped faster.

A true HID retrofit isn't even on the same planet as those Spyder lights. You pay dearly for that increase in quality, though.

That said, I'm more of a fan of the headlight upgrades linked in post #2. Way better bang for your buck, IMO.

For normal street/city/country driving, I've never had any complaints about the stock housings and bulb/wiring upgrades. I'm betting if you just replaced your 25 year old headlights with stock replacements, you'll notice a dramatic increase in light with the new (not fogged over) lenses.

It's not about total light output, but where that light goes. For example, this is what my old fogged lenses did to the light (even after using those "restore" kits), I'm parked like 10-15 feet away, and notice my gutters are illuminated (low beams):

Now, here are new housings (CAPA certified from rock auto), and notice you can barely even see the sign on my garage door, let alone my gutters (same bulbs as before, just new housings). That means the same amount of light is being directed where it should be, not off into the sky where it 1) blinds other drivers and 2) doesn't do you any good.

Post #4366 is an example of nearly doubling output by just getting new OEM assemblies and good stock wattage performance bulbs, without even resorting to a wiring harness and high power bulbs.

Auxito is a reseller of low quality complete garbage China LED products, no-one respectable would recommend such a brand. Would 1000% recommend against this horrible suggestion.

    Seriously, read this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/why-leds-should-not-be-run-in-halogen-reflectors.454371/

I can see the glare from your LEDs in your photo.

I'm sure those lights project super bright light in every direction.

But think about it. You should NOT be projecting light *above* the headlamps from a few feet away like that (especially if low beams). Light should be directed towards the road, not the sky. LEDs physically project light differently, which gets smeared when installed in halogen housings (smeared light = glare). Even those simulated/photoshopped images on that website look like crap. I'm willing to bet that pic of the cutoff is from a HID projector, not these LEDs in stock housings.

@crashnburn80 this reminds me of that bro a while back who was bragging about his sweet LEDs that were completely illuminating the tops of trees (as if that's a good thing).

I can always tell when people have installed aftermarket LEDs. Even in my lifted 4x4, I still get blinding glare as you pass me on the street.
