Favorite Whiskey?

$211 per bottle. Picked one up here at a local store for $229 just about 2 months before hand. Only paid that much because you never, ever see it up here in RI.

 

Shit doesn't exist on the shelf here - state controlled liquor stores. Anything good is gonna be a secondary order.

 

Wow…. See that @Hook78 I told you to pick up a bottle for $105 a week or two ago!

 

I believe I have access to EC18 at $105. No idea what the secondary price is.

 

Supposedly they had another case coming in. I’ll have to check.

 

We need to get together, because at that price i'll take 3 if you can get em.

Secondary is running around 300 a bottle.

 

If you can get it at that price, buy as much as they'll let you. Secondary runs from $250 and up.

First pour: this is excellent. Really, really good. A wonderful bit of spice like a rye but very little heat. Very smooth, hint of sweet. Perfect.

 

Glad you like it. A few of my buddies were surprised when I came back high on a blended bourbon but what can I say? I like it alot.

 

Nothing like seeing these two out when you stroll into your favorite place for dinner!

Welp, this happened

 

So an interesting data point:

Our local state-controlled stores all got a shipment of 4 bottles of Blanton’s (of course while I was on travel). I was out perusing yesterday and got to chatting with one of store managers, and she said the Blanton’s came in and then immediately went out the door to local restaurants. I found that really surprising. Now I’m competing with businesses? I would think the restaurants would have their own direct distributor access but what do I know.

 

Super bummed, got a hold of the manager today and they are out. Oh well. Saved me $105.

 

However, a 1792 Sweet Wheat delivers today. I broke down and allowed myself to pay an only somewhat absurd price for it, so I was raped but only by someone with a small dick.

It will be saved for the first special occasion and better be incredible.

 

This might be the highest proof I have seen on one of these!
