Look on the bright side kiddos. At least you guys have a positive goal to look forward to. Whereas we old retired MFs only have the arrival of the grim reaper for a future milestone. :D

got me wondering, went to SSA site. Did some math. Assuming they have my expiration date right. I lose money if I retire at 70. I'll collect more if I retire at 67. 3rd Retirement just got 3 years closer! :kona::woot:

But you can have the pleasure of outliving their actuarial tables & throwing their whole system off - that's got to be some kinda fun to look forward to. :anonymous:

Watched a financial guy explain it pretty good. He made a graph with SS payouts at 62,65,67,and 70.
All the lines intersect at 77.
Collect at 62,less money but for longer time. Collect at 70,more money but you're already at 70.
Lots of variables, but on paper, if you're in decent health, and plan on sticking around a while, it's 62.
Most people I've talked to say grab it at 62, depending of course on one's financial situation.

I started looking at retirement and trying to plan for it 4-5 years ago. I just turned 50. Hoping I can call it quits at about 60. Plan is to build 401k to the point it's self sustaining. And unless the law changes, I can dig into it starting at 59.5 with no penalties. Live off the interest and when I pass there should be just as much money or more than when I started retirement.... inheritance for my kids. But this is not a good year. Lost everything that was gained last year. Oh well, 4 out of 5 of the last years have been 20-30% growth years for my 401k so can't complain. Still a long way to go.

Don't usually look at my 401k too often, but I made the mistake of looking at it couple weeks ago.

I keep getting Frontiers and Pathfinders with coolant leaks and it’s always because someone messed with something or tried to fix it themselves.

When you finally retire take a few months and do a little as possible.
Then when retired life starts ask yourself this.
With all the chores you will be doing , how did I do all of this when I was working .

That long motorcycle trip in my case didnt happen,as life changed ---wife got sick, daughter and grandchildren moved in and becoming a caregiver to all,but this is what we all signed up for.

Am I glad I retired when I did?,"HELL YES". And I'm enjoying every day to the fullest

    Good morning CT!

    Haven't touched the harness :(
I've been getting my airsoft stuff in order. Thought I lost the charger for my radio but I found it after some time looking.
I have to check the FPS (feet per second) on all my rifles and mark them so I know what's what.

I will be working on the harness this weekend due to the fact that I'm not working this Saturday and Sunday looks like rain.
I'll also be ordering the connector for the inverter and the OEM cable ties on Friday.

Ended up having our kitchen cabinets painted after all.

Guess the Mrs decided to do it after looking at them more and more after the kitchen island was in.

The boxes are done. Now they just have to come and install the doors.

This damn remodel will never end.
