Looks sweet. Do you have water access at your house or docking it up somewhere? I think I remember you building a dock or something but it was a pretty small body of water.

It's only monet, and it makes the wife happy. She's been searching for a pontoon boat for a while and came across this which ticks all the boxes ( can seat 10-12, cruise around and relax or pull tubes cause it's got a 5.7L mercruiser (Chevy) V8)

I'm on the water and have a dock, but it's too shallow and stumpy for this boat. The public launch is about 200 yards past my house. And the lake is pretty large, lots of guys have larger and much deeper drafting boats than this.

I know where most are, but I'm sure I'll find some more as this drafts a little deeper than my small aluminum boat...

Deck boats are a nice compromise between the "capacity" of a pontoon and the "performance" of a V-hull.

Came home from work yesterday to mow my lawn and found out that my 17 YO craftsman tractor finally shit the bed. Went out to look at new ones and......HOLY SHIT are the new ones fucking expensive.....and even the lowest priced ones ($2000 mind you) are freaking crap. I ended up getting a 42" Cub Cadet with bagger...total price $3100...FML

I mean they tried to total my truck because of some scratched LCAs and a small dent (okay, it’s kind of sizeable) in the crossmember.

Gotcha - Nice! Don’t even need to strap it down to get it to and from!

Pontoon boats: The minivans of the seas….actually, the landcruiser of the seas, Seth - it’s coming full circle!

Cool beans. Hope it works out, I’ve always wanted one but it’s (a) expensive (b) we’d have to pay for a marina and (c) that marina would be in salt water here, sooooo :notsure: kayak it is for now.

Yeah, I’m lucky I have a small enough yard. I am RIGHT on the cusp where a push mower is enough. If I had a ride on, it wouldn’t be ridiculous. And if I ALSO had a snowblower, I’d get a ride on and dual-purpose it. but, 1/3 acre and a 3 car drive w/ a bit of an extra walkway, so the cheaper push mower and shovel option it is! Even then, my push mower was something like $700 in 2017. It’s self propelled and a Hondurr, doesn’t have the blade brake but :notsure: whatever. Reminds me I do need to clean up and do some maintenance on that bad larry.

I might take a stab at buzzing on a Marlin LCA Gusset kit myself, possibly next week if I can get through some other projects first. I've got a fairly decent Eastwood MIG-175, if you were at all interested in coming down my way I'd be happy to let you tackle yours with my machine.

The worst the dealer has tried with me was trying to sell me expensive maintenance i didn't need. For instance, they said my throttle body was very dirty and I'll have problems soon. I didn't think it was that bad, and took all of 5 minutes to clean.

Speaking of welding, I had to rewire the trailer harness on my LC so I could have working lights on the boat trailer. The original converter box( takes all the signals and converts for use with a flat 4 plug) shit the bed and the plug wasn't working at all. Apparently a common issue with 100s. Got an aftermarket converter box, cut out the old and soldered in a new generic one keeping all the stock wiring. While I was at it I added a 7 pin plug as the early 100s only came with flat 4 plugs from the factory. Had to weld the mounting bracket for it onto the rear of the receiver since they just give you these dinky screws to mount it, and Iwanted it nice and tucked up. Not sure there's ever been a nicer weld made....20220518_163339.jpg

Also had a little encounter with the ole angle grinder + floppy disk. Went right through my gloves and basically cauterized itself.28193.jpg

Yikes, what puked on the old one?

Yeah my buddy just got a used CC for $900. No bagger, he's locating one now so I can transport it. He's jealous of my $100 Murray I scooped up 10 years ago
