I've had pretty good luck with the knock off carbs, I know some people haven't. It's a gamble.

I’m happy to say I joined this little club a few weeks ago. My fiancée and I bought our first house about a year and a half ago and the Honda push mower I bought last year wasn’t white cutting it.

So I picked up this 1985 Honda HT3810 for 550, running, driving, mowing, and it came with the bagger! Definitely needs a tune up, planning on doing plug/wire, air cleaner, oil change, mower belt, and the blade is in need of a sharpening.
Showed up at the guy’s house with no cash and no way to get it home. A trip to the bank and harbor freight later, and I was all set.

Came home from work yesterday to mow my lawn and found out that my 17 YO craftsman tractor finally shit the bed. Went out to look at new ones and......HOLY SHIT are the new ones fucking expensive.....and even the lowest priced ones ($2000 mind you) are freaking crap. I ended up getting a 42" Cub Cadet with bagger...total price $3100...FML

Yea, it's getting pretty shitty. When I went looking for a riding mower in 2020 they had none in stock at the Deere dealer over the mountain. Couldn't find what I wanted. Couple months later I finally "killed" my old Craftsman rear engine rider and had to replace it. Somehow found my Cub with 46" deck and 22HP Kohler twin for $2000 tax included. Same mower now is like $2900 plus tax! o_O

I saw a zero turn at Wal-Mart the other day for $2,800, the deck looked as flimsy as a tater chip bag

It is kind of silly. There are a few things I have or did not purchase within the past 2 years that I look at the prices today and say aw hell no.
-Garage Steel Shelves (Bought 2 sets 77" wide and tall 24" deep. 2@ $189, now over $300!)
-Windows (did not purchase, but if I had 15 months ago the cost would have been half AND only 2 month lead time instead of 5+):annoyed:
    -Lawn Mower
    -Milwaukee Tools
    -Trailer
    -Truck
    -2 more properties:rofl: Self inflicted wound.:deadhorse:
    -Lightbulbs... :annoyed:
    -Water Heaters

Wireless controller for the winch showed up today. Still need to mount the solinoid and the wireless reciever in a rain proof enclosure.

It's nice having power in and out. These winches only came with power in. Now she goes both ways!PXL_20220519_164358683.jpg PXL_20220519_163118530.jpg PXL_20220519_160935823.jpg PXL_20220519_160810649.jpg PXL_20220519_164429115.jpg

So why are self propelled push mowers mostly bagger or mulcher only, no side discharge? This is why I bought the Ryobi last year, along with it having a better warranty. It can side discharge, bag, or mulch.
