Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Depends a ton on spindle gussets. If going JD gussets a 16x8 4.5BS your tires will be making some love to the gusset.

No problem. Basically if you go 17" wheels you can go 4.75 and be completely fine. But with a 16 things start getting tight with a 4.5

 

Yeah, i'm running 17x7.5 FJ cruiser wheels and i'd like to keep them if possible. I am not a big fan of spacers, but that is another option if absolutely necessary

 

Ive got 16X8 -12, 4 inches and its super tight. Thats about all you can get away with. I know pic sucks but you can kinda see how tight it is.

 

You should be completely fine especially with a 7.5" wheel.

 

I'm running 17x7.5" FJ wheels also with no spacers and 35x10.5 tires and it's reeeeaaaally close but does work. I've got some thinner bora hubcentric slip spacers and longer studs I'm going to try to give a tad more breathing room

And yes, they are pink

You’re running the same wheels as i am actually. Are you using JD spindle gussets?

Thanks for posting this, i was wondering if stock bumps would work with the 2.25 kit temporarily.

 

i'm running stock bumps [well, super bumps, but stock bump style] on the 2.25+pivot for almost a year, no issues.

 

So is anyone in here running extended travel stock length coilovers with their 2.25 kit? I tried searching a multitude of terms in this thread but couldnt find any specific posts on it, however, I remember Harry mentioning that it was possible and that there would just be some travel left on the table. My truck is going to need lower ball joints soon, so i figured it was time to upgrade but i'm going to try and use my 2.5 kings that are already on the truck until i can afford to upgrade those too

I fit my Icon 2.5 ex travel shocks on, with some definite limitations. They were "fine" in the sense that they fit, but definitely weren't optimal. With a shorter rod end I think they'd be pretty decent as an interim shock, as long as you were aware of the decreased travel.

 

Yes they will work but travel will be limited by about 1”. My suggestion is sell your OE kings as they are worth good money and buy the 8” coilovers for the kit since we have them in stock!
