Don't feel bad. I bought this 2008 last August. Washed it in September. That's it. Hood and roof have lost clear coat so can't do a drive thru wash since paint is thin and popping off in spots on hood. This is a recent picture. Rain washes the pollen and bird poop off. New 4runner tires and wheels installed in October and have never been washed.

Looks good from here! The 3rd Gen wheels are a good fit on it.

I have only put around 1500 miles on it since August but that includes a couple of 200 mile round trips. Still hasn't hit 85k miles. I am retired and use a 4 banger around town (even more with gas prices). Last time I filled up the Tacoma gas was $3.31 a gallon. Still riding on half of that tank. I had same wheels with KO2's on my blue 16 Sport. Don't rub but want to do a 3rd gen off road front strut/spring swap to level it.

Coming soon, muahahaha! Pizza cutters stacked in garage waiting on my FJC rims to get powder coated, hopefully done by tomorrow.
Have an appointment next week to get the set mounted and hunter road force balanced, then an alignment; I'll post before/after pics

You had mentioned paint matching the topper ($$$). On that gray truck the white cap looks fine. Now a black, blue or red truck would be different. I say save the money. If it bothers you just take your time and do a cheap rattle can job because you would never recover the cost of a good paint job unless you have a buddy that paints cheap.

Thanks! I do have a buddy...but honestly I agree. I don't hate it. It really Is giving me 2 tone k5 blazer vibes and I'll probably just leave it alone.

Much thanks to all who gave this pic a "thumbs up". In appreciation, I'll share my secret recipe: "Lemon Pledge". Spray or wipes. It's made for wood so it does no harm. Once applied, it doesn't keep building up; over time, it gradually evaporates and the vinyl surfaces return to the factory "matte" finish. It doesn't hang around long, but that's why I like it: spray down any outside exposed plastic (cowl under the windshield, top of rear bumper and it will be gone with the next rain) If you spray it on the flexible "accordion" places like the air-intake: you can spread it in the nooks and crannies with a clean paint brush and it evens the coat right out. It smells nice!

I have been using it on the interior vinyl of my vintage 50's Buick for almost 50 years and the dash vinyl and trim look almost new. I use the wipes on all of the truck interior plastic and it picks up the dust, fingerprints, the dirt on the drivers' door handle and will even clean the black lines the door weather strips leave over time.

I have good luck with 303 Protectant as well. I have used Pledge on the inside of the gauges on my 1971 Triumph TR6 with very nice results.

I use the Lemon Pledge on the gauge faces of the Buick too! (and the Tacoma) It hides the scratches instantly and I can attest it does not harm the plastic: It is still clear after all of these years (including the clock). Amazing considering that the plastic on the speedometer and gauge cluster is now 65 years old. Next time I have it out I'll post a picture of the cluster to show the condition. I have been using it since a buddy recommended it when I got the car. It's either the Lemon Pledge or they made excellent clear plastic back then. 303 is excellent stuff too. It stands up longer on the exterior stuff, but again: doesn't stick around forever leaving a cumulative built-up "mess" over time.

Made some cutouts in the side panel of the roof rack for “scene”/side lights. Could’ve spent more time on them to make it cleaner but wanted to get them up n running for the weekend trip
