DIY shovel mount

    i just mounted a shovel to the rail on my short bed with 1" conduit hanger.

    instead of getting the quick fists ($7-$10 each) i just bought 2 1" conduit hangers from lowes for 79 cents a peice and bought some bolts and washers to mount the hangers on the rail. all in all i just spent $5 to mount my shovel. let me know what you guys think.

    i didnt even think about mini padlocks maybe il put a wing nut on the handle side and a lock on the other. thanks

    i was looking at them on cabelas. are they packaged 2 in a package? so if my order quantity is 1, i will get 2? also what did you use to attach to the rails?

    How about a small hitch pin? Should hold it securely, and good for quick access in case hole digging emergency.

    i saw this thread and decided to use conduit hangers since i came across them @ Menards for dirt cheap. i sprayed them with 3 coats of black paint though. i am happy with the final result. mounted them on the bedliner over the wheel well so the shovel head is almost up against the front of the bed
