If I had a second, more fuel efficient vehicle then yes of course, I would take that instead of the taco. We only have 1 vehicle in our family so I got no other choice.:)

I think most people will still drive the same way if gas will hit 6-7$ per gallon. The world is definitely getting more expensive but not much we can do about it.

I'm back to the old man driving I did in 2008. Get decent mileage when I don't hammer on it. I also wfh and only drive for picking up kids and recreation. Work foots the bill when I need to drive for them.

I've been driving it more. Of course my other vehicle is a F150 with a V8. On the road the Tacoma is only better by about 1 mpg. But around town 2-3 mpg. Every little bit helps.

I'm retired, so not really as we just don't drive that much these days anyway. But it did influence our decision to take my wife's Camry on our recent trip to the beach.

Still driving the Tacoma as my DD. Our other Toyota is a 2001 Jeep TJ...gets even worse MPG! Even with a RTT and a couple few hundred pounds of crap in the back of the Tacoma. :notsure:

My wife wanted a new Volvo and we were going to trade in her 2010 Camry. Decided to keep the Camry as my daily instead. I drive 60 miles a day so if makes a big difference. Taco is the weekend romp around car.

Actually yes…. We normally rock my TRD OR with a Khaya Camper on it for all major trips (it’s been across the whole country twice!). This summer we’re headed for a 4500 mile trip from NY to to the northern peninsula of Newfoundland…. Instead of the truck we’re taking my wife’s Rav4 Adventure with a new Ikamper mini 3.0 on it. Gas in NS adjusted for US dollar and to Gallons is $8.50/gallon right now. Figure the Rav4 will save is about $1000 in gas, more if it goes higher. Plus the Rav is a dream to drive…. Can’t wait!!!

Pictures: because they’re way more interesting. Bottom line. Gas prices are noticeable for sure!

We moved out of the city to the country and now my wife and I commute 60 miles RT a day. So, when we can I leave the lifted Taco home and we take her new Bronco Sport @30 mpg. Half the gas and cost of taking the Taco. We could afford it (so far lol) but why not spend a little time riding together while saving on gas.

I also commute everyday in an electric Rav4 haven’t had to buy gas since Xmas. I do make it a habit to only fill with non-ethanol and run it empty every three months. Basically i have to fill it 4 times a year unless I take a long trip. My commute is almost 30 miles each way, but charging at work is always free.

Retired, work part time at a golf course about 3 miles from my house. Thinking of an E-Bike. Save a few bucks, can still peddle if I wish or cruise if I don't. Will still run the Taco cuz I enjoy driving it. The last time I purchased gas under Biden, it was $2.25. Live in Chicago burbs, gas now $5.25. That is just Fd up.

FWIW I also installed a pellet stove late last fall. I’ve been around long enough to see where things are going. Heated my house with 2.5T of pellets last year propane is over $5/gallon right now. I feel fortunate to have the means to make these adjustments. But it’s crippling to too many families…. I can’t imagine what next winter might bring. Heating oil $6-8/gallon??? Who could ever afford that???

Trying to be economical, I will use my Wife’s Corolla for errands when she is not needing it. Be mindful about letting your Tacoma sit too long with all the threads on mice getting into the engine compartment and eating the soy wires.

Yes,, will be driving my XB (34mpg) and hopefully weather and job permitting (construction) will be riding my motorcycle. Taco will have to get time on weekends and maybe every few weeks. Sucks fuel is so expensive right now. Reminds me back when I had a 99 dodge diesel and it was over 5 bucks a gallon back in 2007-8? Cost over 120 bucks to fill up and got 20 mpg. Yes I make more money now but damn it everything is costing more not just fuel.

Only "change" is that I replaced the worn Goodyear Wranglers with Michelin Defenders last week. That, along with lighter Pro wheels has gained me ~1.0 MPG.
Will park the truck and drive a Rav4 hybrid much of the summer, but I would do that regardless of fuel cost.
