Favorite Whiskey?

Root beer? I will secretly try that.

Normally it’s free, in this case an amount lower than $150 but high enough for me to be ashamed of myself.

 

So I get it. And no one likes paying over MSRP for a bottle…. BUT fuck it. If it’s a bottle you want why not? Not like they’re going to get cheaper! Also what’s the worst case scenario, you find a bottle for $50 and buy that too, dollar cost averaging! Works for stocks!

 

@Hook78 i like the bourbon cream in coffee or hot chocolate.

today my store didn’t get anything special but I snagged a bottle of old tub and it’s a great bottle for the price.

 

You talked me into it. This one was unopened but I have quite a few corks in the bowl from these bottles. One of my favorites for cheap!

 

Am I drinking alone tonight? Cheap whisky night for me! Old Tub and now Green Brier. No complaints here for some affordable and in stock bottles.

 

Talked me into it. This is my less expensive pour. Smooth Ambler Contradiction a West Virginia distillery. My boss is originally from West Virginia and he’s nice enough to bring me a bottle from time to time when we meet up. Nothing cheaper than free!

 

So i just did about 80% of the MABRDR and really wanted to stop at that distillery on the way through. It just didn’t happen. I see those bottles for sale all the time but i wanted to visit the actual distillery. How do you like it??! That’s one that’s easy enough for me to grab.

 

It’s better than the Old Scout. My boss likes the Old Scout but I’m not a huge fan of it. The Old Scout Single Barrel (purple label) is supposed to be pretty good. I’ve never seen it though.

 

Also, today I got my bourbon out of the pantry below the paper towels, beside the Cookie Crisp and into a proper cabinet.

EDIT, I looked even closer. Our bottle collections are crazy similar…

 

That IW Harper is one of the smoothest bourbons I’ve ever poured. You gotta get the 15 year, regular IW Harper is just awful but that 15 year? Damn good stuff.

 

As many have echoed this is a fantastic pour. For me it's only my winter treat, so I've got another 5ish months before I scratch the itch

 

No judgment here. Couple ice cubes, smidgen of root beer and that’s a nice change of pace. I’ve killed a bottle or 6 of that.

 

So this is made locally, about 20min from me. Hook, you may want to check it out. It's an inexpensive bottle, easy and smooth pallette, more burn in the finish than the proof would suggest.

 

Made me laugh!! Maybe share w a person w bigger unit!!

 

I’ve been tempted to try it, see it all over including in the one store I told you about.
