TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Curious how that will work out. have you tried to smog with the GM cat? That may not pass and the Y won't either if they look at it. I figure keep the stock Y and just delete it until I need to smog. I have DT shorties I will add (pending carb). JBA no longer makes the 12-15 headers. Me and @12TRDTacoma both tried and basically they said no way will they ever make them again. they sold a handful a year and said it was not worth it.

DT shorties they have been pending for a few years. SEMA helps them get approval but so far the state is not responding to any of the approvals it seems. I picked up anyway since better chance and if I have stock cats may slip by.

 

Nice setup. Any hp estimates or 1/4 mile times before or after the 2.5"?

 

@loginfailed I hope this helps setting up the Lingenfelter module. Mode 0 on the face of the module, AEM temperature sensor (unless you are using a different brand temp sensor), Corvette C7 SPAL fan, ground controlled PWM.

 

Depends on the shop. I don't remember the shop rolling under the car. Nor do I remember them climbing in the engine bay. Possibly (someone correct me) ignition coil packs need to be OEM but the rips don't have a carb eo#. I had my Magnuson sticker on last time and no questions after he eyeballed but couldn't reach into the engine bay. Same for the y pipe, no questions on the DT y pipe I had at the time. I'll keep the stock y pipe until i can pass or not. My aftermarket cats don't have a CA tax stamp I'll get JBA carb stickers as well but hoping they don't roll under the vehicle to inspect further. The AFE ones look fairly stock but going to paint them in VHT paint and hopefully they'll weather some.

Have heard the theoretical limit is over 400whp.

I have just over 400whp but I do have 7th Injector and water/methanol. So not a true test of the theory, but I seem to have enough fuel with all that.

 

Theoretically I’m pushing 500whp to my 37’s. Not much technical data to support it but it “feels” like more

 

I'm at 80% duty cycle with the standard trd injectors with a 2.8. I'm planning on getting large fic injectors with alot of reserve to build into.

 

What size pulley are you running?

Sure you do though. Datalog of MAF g/s for a close approximation of brake engine HP.

 

Got too many VE upgrades, taxing those injectors. Need to change things up a bit for further VE improvements.
