Right and with rising fuel prices comes higher priced EVERYTHING. If it has to travel from point A to point B its going to cost more. That's what bothers me the most. Everthing costs so much more that it used to. Won't be long and the Dollar Store will be the Two Dollar Store.

I have been lucky as I have had a company car or truck for the past 13 years. If that weren't the case, I'd have a beater commuter AND a beater pickup. Now I just have a beater spare to spare the Taco from short trips and road salt. I am taking 6 weeks off this summer to drive from SE PA to the Glacier NP area and camp out for a while. Im anticipating about $1500 in gas. Luckily, the wife has a Prius V that gets low to mid 40's and has enough space that she has an air mattress in the back and sleeps in it between classes. I love that car more all the time.

I've noticed more and more new model 3 Tesla's on the road around me. A few Rivian's too. As someone who's grown up with jet boats and cammed hotrods I can't help but stare at them and selfishly think what is wrong with them and wonder if the drivers ever miss their gas powered vehicles or if they know what it's like to ride in hot rod or a jet boat? Even Wake boats are now offered in all electric versions.
It's shocking (pun intended) to see the change unfold and to be a part of the transition whether or not one wants any part of it, but I digress. :smokertransformer:

Wife and I both work from home. Grocery store is a 3 min drive. Getting outside the house takes a priority for mountain biking/taking some time away from our screens. We share the tacoma, and we won’t get another vehicle till we start having kids.

Sold my Tacoma to Carvana because of gas prices. Many more will follow soon enough, all trucks will be sitting in driveways except for those with short commutes/ use trucks for work.

I ended up gutting my Tacoma and removing almost all my extra stuff, skid plates, rock sliders, tools, gear, etc. Truck is almost stock now.
80 miles a day for work. Wish I could afford something that gets better milage but I can't at this time.

3 minute drive to the grocery store isn't even worth starting the car. Get an E bike, one wheel, EUC or an electric scooter and a back pack and you could probably leave the keys in the bowl most of the time. Just sayin :)

It hasn't changed my routine. I like this truck too much to stop driving it how or when I want to. To me, life is too short to worry about a little extra money spent on gas.

I own a Subaru Outback, and 2 motorcycles. Of course I get places faster on the bikes. Since I lifted and put 33's on my truck when I bought it in 2018, I saw my mpg go into the toilet, so I have always driven my truck when I had to. I am very active with my truck going off roading, to outdoor shooting ranges, and to race tracks with my Kawasaki zx6r so I still end up driving my truck a lot.

I still drive mine to work everyday but that's only six miles away. However if I am going anywhere else and don't need to bring the dog or pick up my kid I gear up and take my motorcycle. And I still take regular 200 mile or so motorcycle rides to restore my sanity. 55mpg and way more fun. And most of the driving I do in my Tacoma is 50-55mph and I usually see 22-23 MPG. But it's still so much cheaper to take the bike. I'm more concerned with heating oil next winter. I just barely scraped through that last winter.

My workplace is 5mi away, so I only fill up about once a month. I would never take this thing cross country though. Regional road trips are fine.

The Tacoma is still my daily driver, but luckily I have a minimal commute and only fill it up once or twice a month.

The boat, on the other hand, might be spending a few more days on the dock this summer. I expect fuel at the marina to be close to $6 per gallon this summer.

Don’t bitch about the price of lobster. Fuel costs are going to hurt.

If demand falls as prices rise, and fuel costs don’t come down, I could see this putting some commercial fishermen out of business.

Yep, I used to go for two or three drives per week, each hour+. Have a couple of really nice dirt road loops into the mountains I like to do.

After spending $180/week on gas a few times I decided to stop.

2006. I bought it new and it has 188000 trouble free miles. Plus it’s a manual so I get my shifting fix.
