just curious what else I can put in my tacoma without too much effort

 

Bit of advice for anyone adding the lights to a truck without the cargo light switch, check the fuse panel for the relay before ordering a relay. I didn't and now I have a $24 relay sitting here as my 2021 already had the relay.

 

I just bought a 2022 Tacoma SR5 access cab. I am having issues trying to find the relay location and connector for bed /cargo lamps. Is there panels that I need to remove?

 

See the first post. The panel the houses the switches needs to be removed. (Driver's side)

 

Ok, I removed panel. Do not see a harness under dash but I have a harness behind taillight.

 

If ya don't have the cargo Lamp switch then the connector to it is attached to the panel you removed.

 

Ok....looked again and found it. I was looking for a bigger harness. Put the jumper in to check power at taillight and had it. I also checked to see if I had power just turning on the dome light and closed door and still had power. So, I should be able to also use dome light switch to turn it on....correct? Also, would it be feasible to just install the jumper instead of buying the male connector?

You could but I would use the connector to secure the pins of the jumper.

Was the jumper removed when you did this?

 

no. jumper was installed, dome light switch on at door closed.

 

With dome light off and door closed....no power at bed connector.

 

Odd, the Door/Off/ON Cargo switch controls the bed lights also. There's no relation of the Dome switch selection to the Cargo Lamp Illumination.

 

You are jumping 5 & 9, correct?

 

blue and purple wires, yes.

 

With Dome OFF, leave door open and verify power to Bed Illumination and Cargo Lamp (should be ON)

 

Requesting help. I have a 2019 Tacoma OR that has a cargo lamp controlled by a On/Off/Door Open switch to the bottom and left of steering wheel. I just installed a Hooke Road rear bumper with 18watt LED lights.

I would like to control the bumper lights with the cargo lamp switch. Can someone point me in the right direction? Can I wire a from bumper lights directly to switch?

 

You have a various options, this is one;

• Power wire of added lamps to the power wire of the Cargo lamps at connector IE1.

 

Thank you Caribe. Does the diagram show the positive wire going to the number 14 pin? Where does the negative wire go?Finally, where can I find the E1 relay in the truck?
