Still waiting to find out what up with my truck. Like the mechanic I go to but he works slow sometimes. It's a good and bad thing sometimes.

Misfire in cylinder 1. Happened on my way to a camping trip while pulling our pop-up. Was able to hobble to a O'Reilly's and tried swapping the ignition coil and spark plug but no dice. Was not able to test anything else at the time.

    oooo shiny.

was it saturated with oil? The spark plug tube section of the valve cover gaskets is iffy at best. I put a dab of RTV on them to hold them proper in the valve cover when reinstalling.

Hey, have a question. I have a leaque at this section on the cab when it rains. Would this be a body shop fix? A glass in20220520_132549.jpg staller fix? I don't need my cab leaking water when it gets heavy rain.

I would peel the seal away a little and see what's going on. If it's rusty could be a cab issue but if it's not I'd throw some silicone in it and lay the seal back down. If that doesn't work I'd go to a glass guy

If the frame is good....find a used motor or I vote 2uz swap. I think 5lugfury has done one on his RC.

And yes Timm, older hondas will run amazingly long without oil. The VTEC won't work.....but amazing they keep running.

Psst. Yea I wish I had the time and money to do that.

For now I took it to another guy that's a bit more knowledgeable on Toyotas. More expensive in the end but everyone in the community says he does great work. Depending on what he says will be the next step. He won't get it looked at till Friday. For now it's at least home.

Really don't wanna go looking for another truck. If it needs work like a new motor may be better to cough it up than look for a new truck with the way pricing is.

I am sad to hear this... did he scope the cylinder to check the walls?

Don't think so. Once he saw low compression he nope't out of it. This other guy in town will do a more thorough check but it'll come at a cost just to check.

I'll start the freakout once he checks everything from there. What we just know now is there is low compression. Not sure if he tested with all plugs in or not. Kind of a waste of time really to give it to the 1st guy but he hardly charges me for anything. :D

IIRC you have a 3rd gen right? didn't those have some kind of TSB for leaks or was that just the 3rd brake light?

If the cylinder walls still look good and nothing is cracked, I wouldn't mind helping you rebuild it. I like to learn new things. I did the head gasket of my 99 Pontiac Grand Am in my friends yard.
